When tea and coffee were first introduced to Europe in the 18th century, people had different ideas about their use. Some said that tea and coffee were harmful to humans and they could cause(引起) people to die.

In Sweden(瑞典), King Gustaf III decided to find out whether or not this was true. It happened that there were two brothers in prison at that time. They were twins and were almost alike in every way. They had both been sentenced to death(判处死刑). The King decided to let them live if one of the men agreed to drink several cups of tea each day and the other several cups of coffee.

Both brothers lived many years without problems of any kind. At last, the brother who had drunk tea every day died at the age of 83, the other died a few years later.

Because of the experiment, tea and coffee got accepted(接受) and became popular as drink in Swe-den, and it is one of the many countries of the world where much tea and coffee is drunk today.

I have always admired students who hand their homework in on time and never forget anything important to do. Me, on the other hand… I'm terrible at getting myself organized! The following tips are from my friends.

This is my father. His name is Paul. His favourite colour is blue. He is a doctor who works in a hospital. 

This is my mother. Her name is Helen. She likes purple. My mum is an English teacher. She is so kind that every student likes her very much. And she helps with my schoolwork most of the time. 

This is my brother. His name is Dale. What's his favourite colour? Well, it's green. Why does he like green best? Because he loves all kinds of plants. He also grows some plants in our garden. He is a very careful gardener. 

This is my sister. Her name is Anna. Orange is her favourite colour. She is only 3 years old, and she is quite a cute girl. She sometimes can make us laugh happily. 

I'm taking my family to some other countries for a trip. My wife and I, and our two children are all  1 My elder brother will 2 with us, too. He never went to other countries 3 He is even more 4 than the children. My father is old now, so he wants to stay at home to 5 the house. 

We're on the train to New York now, and then we will 6 a ship to Europe. The UK will be the first place for us to visit. After visiting it, we will go to some other countries to do some sightseeing. When we 7 France, we'll go to different places either by train or by bus. Then we're going to fly home. 

It took 8 a long time to plan where to go, but I think we'll have a very interesting trip. 

We also talked about 9 we would go to Europe. At first we wanted to fly there because it would be faster and save a lot of time 10 us, but my brother liked boat trips, and the children liked boat trips, too.
