Do you believe a rose plant says "I want some water" or a tree shouts " My arms hurt" ? Maybe you will say this could only happen in some {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (children)stories.

In fact, plants are not always silent. So far, a recent study{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (find)plants shout when they are in need of water or having their stems cut. "Even in a quiet field, there are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (actual)some sounds that carry information. However, the pitch(音高) is too high for people {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (hear)," said Lilach Hadany, a professor from Tel Aviv University. The researchers used microphones to record some tomato plants and found that stressed plants send out {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (many)sounds than unstressed plants. "When tomatoes are not stressed at all, they are very quiet," Professor Hadany said. They also trained a machine in telling the differences{#blank#}6{#/blank#} thirsty plants and cut plants. The result shows that{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the causes of stress change, they shout differently. After {#blank#}8{#/blank#}team recorded many kinds of other plants, they found that many plants like corn, wheat and grape plants send out sounds when they are under stress, too.

"There is a possibility{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a lot of communication is happening," Professor Hadany said. " Because other{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (plant) can probably hear the call of the stressed plants. "

Sound recordings of plants could bring humans lots of advantages especially in farming. For example, people will make sure whether corn is getting enough water or where water is needed most without much difficulty. .

It's often believed that only grown﹣ups can make a difference. Is it true?Tea Vogue interviewed some teenagers across the world. Get ready to be inspired (启发).

16﹣year﹣old Michael began using social media to cheer up teenagers of his age to follow their dreams on his baseball blogs. Michael talked about sportspeople and how they would face their challenges.

Lesein,14 years old,first learned about climate change when he was twelve years old. His home country,650 acres of forest each year.

With a deep love of soccer,Lesein started Trees for Goals,planting a tree for every goal he scored in a match. Later the school's soccer and basketball teams all followed him. In 2019,000 trees in forests outside of Nairobi were planted. Now the government provides trees for them to plant.

Alexis Lewis,a 15﹣year﹣old inventor designed a simple wheelchair with bamboo to help poor people who need to transport children many miles to hospitals. Another invention of his is a special mask which can be thrown through a window of a smoke﹣filled building to people inside.

Alexis said, "People are dying in a fire accident because they can't be saved in time,Another reason why I want to invent something is that I love physics and I use it to improve technologies. " Alexis also told our reporter that he wanted children to know that inventors can be everybody who's ever tried to solve a problem.

①The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides a year into twenty- four solar terms. Start of winter, Lidong in Chinese, the 19th solar term of the year, falls on November 7th this year.

Lidong was once a big day in ancient(古代的) China. Before the day, the emperor(帝王) would take a shower and have no meat. On that day, the emperor and his officials(官员) would all dress in black and go out of the city to welcome winter. Today, to welcome the day, some people choose to have swimming competitions in the rivers in some cold places such as Harbin in Heilongjiang Province.

③As winter comes, the weather gets colder and colder. Chinese people often eat enough food to keep their bodies warm and healthy. On the day of Lidong, people in North China love eating dumplings. In South China, people love to eat chicken, duck and fish. In some places in Guangdong Province, people eat sugar cane(甘蔗) on the day. They think this is good for their teeth. In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, people will eat green onions for good health. In Taiwan Province, people often eat mutton.

Lidong is the time to start wearing warm clothes. In old times, the emperor would hand out warm winter clothes to the officials on the day. People would also remember to give" clothes" to their lost family. They would also have delicious food to show how much they missed the lost ones.
