Monday morning is an important time at our school. All of the students go to the playground. We listen to music, and we1the national flag (国旗) go up.

    Usually, one student gives a talk on Monday mornings. One Monday last year, a boy gave the talk. He was2and excited! When I saw him, I wanted to have a try, too. Can I really do it?

    Last week, our teacher said our class should give the talk. My teacher3me, “I know you want to have a try. Next Monday, you can give the talk. Go and write something down. Get ready for it. I'm sure you'll do well. ”

    “Thank you,” I answered. It was such a great 4 for me! When I got home, I was excited. I wrote two pages for the talk. I read them again and again. When I read, I asked my parents 5. I wanted to make my teacher happy.

    Monday morning came. I began to feel 6. When did I last give a talk to so many people? Never! This was my first time. Could I really do it? Maybe I couldn't finish the talk.

    In 1933 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney. He had a(n) 1 voice and he wanted to work in Disney s cartoon film for children. When Walt Disney heard Nash's voice, he said, "Stop! That's our 2!"

    The duck was the famous Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934 in the film The Wise Little Hen. Donald lived in an old houseboat and 3 his sailor jacket and hat. Later that year he became a star after an eight-minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was 4 and greedy (贪婪的) and he lost his temper (发脾气) very quickly.     Years ago, I celebrated my 40^th birthday with my friends. I arrived at the restaurant ahead of time, 1I waited outside the restaurant. Then a homeless man came up to me and asked for 2. I hesitantly reached out and said, "Thank you". Excitedly, he caught my 8, gave me the dollar and said, "No, thank you brother!"

    That experience made me feel like I had got far more than $1! This was one of my greatest life9: No matter how poor we may be, we always have something valuable to10with others.

People live on Earth for many years. They live on different continents (陆地) and in different countries. 

    ▲    That is why lots of animals are in danger. Indian tigers and African elephants are among them. People kill (杀害) many of them. But why?

Tigers are often dangerous animals. They can kill people's chickens, sheep and other farm animals and sometimes they can also kill men. So some people kill them for protecting their animals while some kill them just for money. Some people kill elephants for their teeth because they can sell them for lots of money. 

The sad thing is that there are few Indian tigers on Earth now. Many of them are usually old sick animals and they don't kill people but stay away from them in dark forests. Or they try their best to stay away, because people are cutting down the forests. And there is a question: Do those animals get a future?"

We can ask the same question about African elephants. They are wonderful animals. They can help, and make people have fun. In the last century. Africa was full of elephants and now it is only history.
