One day Tom tells his friends，" I'm going to have holidays in Beijing. But I can't speak Chinese，so I'm going to have evening classes and have Chinese lessons there for a month." Soon his holidays come and he goes to China happily. After he comes back，his friends ask him，" Do you have any trouble with your Chinese when you are in Beijing，Tom?" "No，I don't." Answers Tom，" But the Chinese do!"

    On Sunday, Lucy and I go to a bookshop, then we want to go to the supermarket. But we don't know the way how to get to the bookshop. We ask the policeman in the street for help. He tells us to walk along Renmin Road, and turn right at the second crossing. Then we walk and walk but we don't see the bookshop. We are too tired so we take a taxi. “Please take us to the bookshop.” We tell the taxi driver. The taxi driver laughs and says, “The bookshop is over there, you may get off now.”

    Today is fine, and the sky is blue. Now it's nine o'clock in the morning. There's a sports meeting in the forest on the mountain.

    Look! A horse, a panda and a cat are running. Over there a dog and two tigers are jumping. Two monkeys are climbing the trees. Four birds are flying around and singing.

    There are some other animals there, too. The elephants are standing. A monkey is sitting on an old elephant. The monkey has a flag in his hand. They are all watching.  

（Sarah is asking a policeman for help）

Sarah: Excuse me. Where is the Zhongbai Supermarket, please?

Policeman: It's next to the hospital over there.

Sarah: Is it far from here?

Policeman: No.

Sarah: How can I get there?

Policeman: You can walk there.

Sarah: Thank you.

Policeman: You're welcome.

    It was a sunny Sunday. Alice walked to Linda's home in the morning. She studied with Linda. They read books. They did their homework and ate some ice cream together.

    In the afternoon, they went to the park to fly kites. Suddenly Alice's kite flew into a small lake. A cute dog jumped into the lake and picked up the kite. Alice was so grateful to the dog.

    This is my friend, Kate. She's 11 years old. She's tall and pretty. She's hard-working at home. She has many friends. Kate often speaks English in the morning. She can play the piano very well. Her favorite food is fish. It's fresh and healthy. We often go boating in the park. We are good friends.
