When thinking about your holiday, what comes to your mind first? The hot sun, cool water, yellow sand-where are we? The beach! Australia has lots of beaches. Most people may go there in holidays. Let's take a look!

Today is my birthday and I am having a great time at the zoo with my dad. 

There are many lovely animals in the zoo, like monkeys, pandas and giraffes. I see some people feeding them with our food. I'm going to fed them. "It is not right to feed them with our food, " he says. 

"Why shouldn't I do so?" I turn to my dad and ask him. 

"Because it can make them sick when they are not getting the right food. For example, chocolate is children's favorite, but it is not good for many animals. So we should protect them and feed them with their own food. " he explains.

Could you spend 24 bours without the Internet? I'm not sure how I'd deal with it. These days we all depend heavily on technology, you may or may not be surprised by the results of some recent research about the effects of online and digital （数字的） technology on people's lives. More than half of the people who were questioned said they'd feel "upset" without an Internet connection even for a brief period of time, which is, about 15-30 minutes when they were away from the Internet. 

The scientists also challenged people to spend one whole day without using technology and then report back on what it was like. Some people were surprised that they could not even turn their phones to silent. Nearly fifty percent of them said they felt lonely when they weren't using social media. According to the research, it is harder for the younger people to give up technology. They said that the modern technology has already become a part of their lives. However, there are about 25% of people actually said they felt freer without an Internet connection. It meant they found time to do something they wouldn't usually do such as reading a novel. Some of them said they enjoyed spending more time talking to family and friends face to face.

Kim and Ray were close friends. One day, they went on a sea voyage (航行). At first, everything was fine. However, their ship was broken in the middle of the ocean. Kim and Ray left the ship and swam to a nearby island. 

Kim and Ray didn't find anything to eat on the island. They had to pray（祈祷; 祷告） that they could survive (存活). They wanted to know whose prayer would be more powerful. Kim moved to the eastern part of the island and prayed there. Ray went to the western part of the island and prayed there. 

Kim prayed and his prayer came true. He got some meat, fruit and vegetables on the seashore. Several days later, Kim prayed that he could have a ship to take him home. His prayer came true again. There came a ship to take him home. 

As Kim was about to enter the ship, he heard someone speak to him. It was just a voice, "Are you going alone, leaving your friend here?"

Then Kim remembered about Ray. He asked the voice, "May I know who you  are?"The voice answered, "I am the one that answers everyone's prayers. In fact, I was not answering your prayers. I was only answering Ray's prayers. He said 'please make all of Kin's prayers come true. '"

Kim was in tears and rushed to the other side of the island. When he found Ray there, Ray was dying because he didn't have anything to eat. Kim said sorry to Ray, gave him some food and saved his life in time. He realized that Ray's prayer was more powerful. It was because Ray's prayer was totally selfless. 

Today, it is a big problem for young people to get fine jobs after they leave university. It is said that there are thousands of different kinds of jobs in the world.    But choosing the right one often worries young people.

Finding a job is not the same as choosing a job. Many young people end up in jobs that they are not suitable for. Here are a few steps to help you think about jobs which you might enjoy doing after school or university.

First, it is important to know what kind of person you are, which special qualities make you better than others and what you are interested in. There is a difference between an interest and a skill. If you like art and enjoy looking at pictures, that is an interest. But if you can draw a horse that looks like a horse not a big dog, that is a skill.

Then ask yourself a question, "In the following three areas-skills with people, skills with information and skills with things, which are my best skills?"

After finding out your best skills, the next step is to do research. To find out as many different kinds of jobs as possible, you should go to the library and read books, magazines and newspapers for information. Ask your friends what they think of the work they do.

The last step is to trust your own ideas and your own thinking! It is your own life. so just find the job you really enjoy doing.

Which would you give a boy for his birthday, a toy truck or a doll? If you choose the truck, well,you're not alone. Most people think that some toys are for boys and some are for girls. We might pick building toys or remote-control cars for boys and kitchen toys or dolls for girls. But why do we do this?Are boys and girls really born with different interests in toys?

No, they are not. Children start to show different interests in toys at age three, but only because at this time, they begin to learn about gender(性别) and to follow what others of their gender do. If you give a girl kitchen toys, she will think they are girls' toys because she sees other girls playing with them. But if you give a girl a toy car and show her a group of girls who are playing with cars, she'll play with the toy car and think it is a girls' toy. This "watch and follow" habit often becomes a rule for both boys and girls in choosing the "right" toys.

However, this rule can be bad for children. Different toys teach children different things. Dolls help with their early language use, and building toys are good for learning math and science. By playing with different toys, children can find out what they are interested in or what they are good at.

If they only play one kind of toy, they may lose this important chance. They may also get a wrong idea about what boys or girls are able to do. Some doctors worry that children may use the same kind of thinking when they look for jobs in the future. If they do, they may miss something more important than just getting a chance to play with different toys. They may miss many, perhaps better, chances in life.
