Once upon a time there was no tea at all in England. People there used to drink a light beer(啤酒). No coffee or milk but large glasses of beer stood on the breakfast table!

When tea was first brought to England, an old couple got some as a special treat. But they did not know how it should be used. They cooked the leaves in hot water, and spread them on a piece of bacon(熏肉) which they were going to have for dinner. They ate the leaves, and threw the tea away! However, tea is becoming as popular as coffee and milk in England today.

Tea is the leaf of a plant which grows widely in China, Japan and some other countries. Tea famers usually grow many tea plants on a large piece of land. When the tea leaves are ready to be picked, it is the busiest time for tea farmers in a year. They pull off on the leaves and dry them. On May 24, 2021, 46-year-old Wang Hong reached the top of Qomolangma, which made him the first blind person from Asia to climb the world's highest mountain. Erik Weihenmayer and Andy Holzer made it in 2001 and 2017. They are the only three blind mountaineers to have climbed Qomolangma. Born in Chongqing, Wang became blind at the age of 26 due to glaucoma (青光眼).

Both his father and uncle lost their sight because of the same disease, so Wang knew exactly what life would be like for blind people from an early age. He lived his life without goals. Luckily, he was saved by his wife. "I felt so hopeless then. But my wife was always there and encouraged me. Without her by my side, I couldn't have pulled myself together, " Wang recalled. Later, Wang became a blind masseur (按摩师).

In 2015, by accident, he heard of the blind American mountaineer Weihenmayer, who climbed Qomolangma.     ★        . He then started to climb the mountains together with his guide. With the help of his guide, he did a lot of training, including rock climbing and walking on snow and ice.

Wang also met many other mountaineers from all over the world. They all encouraged him even though they spoke different languages. Wang could feel their warmth through hugs or pats on his shoulder. Wang said the climbing of Qomolangma taught him many things, including how to trust people.

"I can't see the worldbut I want the world to see me." Wang said, "I've got so much energy from my family and these climbers. Now I'd like to share that energy with others and encourage other disabled people. "

① On September 5th, 2022, a 6. 8- magnitude (级) earthquake happened in Luding County in Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Very soon firemen, rescuers (救援者) and doctors came to help.

② The photo of a young rescue r called Zhang Zili holding a 2- month- old baby in his arms moved many people. Zhang and other rescuers found the baby and her grandmother at their home in a village. Luckily, they didn't hurt badly and were sent to hospital. Zhang got a lovely name "Brother Wenchuan" because the Chinese words of "Wenchuan" are on his armband.

③ 20- year- old Zhang Zili is from Maoxian County, and it is close to Wenchuan County. We all know a 7. 8- magnitude earthquake happened in Wenchuan on May 12th, 2008.

④ "My house fell down, so my family had to stay in a tent in a school playground. I still remember the tent was dark and I could hear many kids crying. Then an uncle of the PLA (解放军) came to me. He taught me songs to sing and played with me. He kept saying' Don't be afraid because we are here now'," Zhang recalled. The little boy kept these words in his heart. And he will never forget how those firemen, rescuers and doctors worked hard day and night to save people in 2008. In early 2022, when Zhang Zili learnt that the local forest fire brigade (森林消防队) was recruiting (招募) firemen, he joined it at once.

⑤ "Being a fireman is sometimes dangerous, but saving people from danger is the most important. I love my job," he says.
