With the change of different seasons, people will need different kinds of clothes. When school begins in autumn, it is cool. So at this time of year, people often wear something such as shirts, coats and pants. Winter usually comes in December. It is very cold in the last two months. And people should wear warm and heavy clothes. Jackets, sweaters, hats, and gloves can also keep people away from the cold weather. Spring is usually from March to May. In spring, the weather changes again and gets nice and warm. People begin to wear cool clothes. With the summer months coming, people often wear shorts, T-shirts or something else to keep cool. It gets very hot in July and August. Don't forget sunglasses and sunshades(遮阳伞), for they are both what you need in the hot sunny season.

    [1] I'm a 34-year-old man, married, lived in a nice house, and have a successful career. But my life was not always so great. I had a learning disability from an early age. I went to a special school where I got plenty of extra (额外的) help. Still, I suffered the rest of my school days in public schools.

    [2] My life improved greatly when I discovered art. The art world gave me a chance to express myself without words. I went to a workshop and gradually became good at making things with clay. Here I learned my first important lesson: disabled as I was in language, I could still be smart and well express myself with clay. And my confidence（自信）came along.

    [3] I got my next lesson from rock climbing. It was a fun thing but I was scared from the start. ⑶I soon noticed it wasn't a talent thing; it needed lots of practice. So I did it more. After about five years of climbing, I found myself in Yosemite Valley on a big wall. I learned that if you fall in love with something and do it all the time, you will get better at it.

    [4] Later I decided to learn ⑷①          to read and write. I practiced reading and ⑷②          , which I used to avoid as much as possible. After two years, I was literate(有文化的).

    [5] Through the long process with art, ⑷③             , and reading and writing, now I've got to a point in my life: I am smart enough to dive into (潜入) an area that is totally unknown, hard, but interesting.

    It's December 31, New Year's Eve. Bob and Sally are celebrating the holiday with *heir children, Lucy and Tom. The family is a very happy one.  Next year is going to be a very good year for the family.

    Next year Bob and Sally are going to take a long holiday. They are going to visit Sally's parents in California. Tom is going to finish high school. He is going to move to Boston and go to college. Lucy is going to be 16 years old. She is going to finish middle school and go to high school.

    In a word, it is going to be a happy year for all of them.

    For thousands of years, kites have been made and flown by people of all ages living in most parts of the world. ⑶Kites have been especially popular in Asian countries. In Korea, people fly kites on the first few days of the new year as a kind of celebration. In Japan, kite flying is an important part of the boy's festival that is held each May. In China, one day out of every year is celebrated as Kite Day. At these special" kite celebrations", thousands of kites are flown. ⑷They are made in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Some are shaped like fish, butterflies, or birds. All of them are very bright and colorful. Most kite fans fly their kites just for fun, but serious kite fliers take part in contests. Kites are used for practical(实用的) purposes, too. The U.S. Weather Bureau uses kites to collect information about winds and weather. Some of the kites used in this kind of work carry scientific instruments and fly higher than 20,000 feet. To fly a kite, it's usually necessary to run into the wind for a few feet. As the kite begins to rise, let out more line and pull it. Do not fly a kite near trees or electric lines, or in an area where there are low-flying planes.
