Basketball stars become hip-hop singers. It's true. In NBA, hip-hop music is very popular. Many of the players, like Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers, write rap(说唱) words when they travel on planes from one city to another. Some of them even have rap radio shows and others perform(表演) in music video.

    When some of the younger stars play basketball, they even try to look like hip-hop singers. “Hip-hop is just part of their culture,” says one player. “All of us grew up listening to rap and playing basketball, and rappers grew up doing the same thing.”

    Master P. is a famous rap star who wants to become a basketball player. Two NBA teams have invited him to join them. They enjoy listening to his music. An NBA player has become a rapper. He has made four successful rap albums(专辑).

    NBA has a closer connection to hip-hop than any other sports league.

Feet are an important part of you. Without them, you couldn't stand up, walk or run around. Your feet work so hard that sometimes they get sweaty (出汗).

Think of a hot summer day when you have been walking around all afternoon. Your feet have been in those trainers for a long time! The moment you take off your shoes, you feel good and relaxed, but your feet smell bad. You may think it is because of the sweat. But in fact, sweat itself has no smell. It's the bacteria (细菌) on your skin (皮肤) that mix with it and gives off a bad smell.

Bacteria love dark and wet places like the inside of sweaty shoes. The sweatier you get, the more bacteria there will be. When you wear your shoes, bacteria will have a good meal on your feet. They eat dead skin cells from your skin and then leave a kind of waste called organic acids (有机酸). These organic acids smell bad. Things will become better if you wear cotton socks.

The Alaska Range(阿拉斯加山脉) is famous for its valleys and glaciers (冰川). It has many thick forests and big glaciers which are millions {#blank#}1{#/blank#}years old, It attracts (吸引) more than four million tourists from all over the world. It is also one of {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(danger) places on the earth.

Of all the mountains, Mount McKinley is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(high). It's one of the most popular places to go for mountain {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(climb). It's very difficult to climb Mount McKinley {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the environment on the mountain isn't ideal. The top of the mountain is {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(cover) by thick snow all year round. And there are many other {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(difficulty) like the freezing weather conditions, avalanches (雪崩), the heavy storms and so on.

For these climbers, it is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} dangerous climb indeed. Many people have lost {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(they) lives on this mountain. However, the mountain climbers {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(not give) up climbing it so far. Instead, they enjoy the great challenges in climbing the mountain.

If you go to the Gulf of Mexico, you can see there is a big hole. It is called Chicxulub Crater. Some people believe it was because of a huge asteroid(小行星) hitting this place, and the hit made dinosaurs die out millions of years ago.

This idea was first suggested in 1980. Later, scientists used special tools to find out what would happen if it was true. It showed that the asteroid could hit Earth at 40,000 miles per hour, leading to a big hole, a great tsunami(海啸), earthquakes, and the melting(融化) of tons of rock. The hit took away millions of lives around the Chicxulub Crater.

The terrible story didn't stop there. Minutes later, hot rock started to rain down, and there was deadly dirt everywhere on the ground. More animals were burnt to death. After several hours, a super- hot wind knocked down anything still standing.

In weeks, the sky was full of ash. Days became nights. This covered the sunlight for months or even years. Many plants died first. Then lots of animals died too because of food shortage, including almost all dinosaurs.

Although this idea sounds possible, the question of how dinosaurs died out remains unsolved scientifically. But as scientists discover more dinosaur fossils, we may know the truth one day.
