    Long long ago, there was a swan（天鹅）with golden feathers（金羽毛）.She lived in a lake.

    A woman lived in a small house1the lake with her two daughters. They were very poor. They worked hard all year round,2 still, they lived a hard life and sometimes they even didn't have enough 3to buy food.

    The swan was 4to see that. She said to herself, “I'll give one of my5 to them each day, then they can live a happy life with the money selling my feathers.” That evening, she6to the poor woman's house and left a golden feather on the table without saying7.From then on, the swam came every day and gave them a feather. The woman was very happy because their life was much8than before.

    But day after day, the woman became greedy（贪婪）.She said to her 9”The swan may fly away one day. If so, we will be poor again. We should take all10feathers when she comes next time.” “Oh, no, Mom!” cried the daughters, “This will 11the swan. She helps us a lot !”But the mother wouldn't listen. When the 12came as usual, the mother caught her and took all her feathers .But suddenly, the golden feathers 13chicken feathers.

    Then ,the Golden Swan said, “Poor Mother, I came to 14 you, but you wanted to kill me. Now, I am leaving and will 15come back. Never be greedy!” With these words, the swan flew away.

    The best body language may be the smile. A smile can open doors and pull down walls among1. My experience really puts it well.

    I have organized and reorganized a meeting with the doctor for months. I also called the day before to2 all the paperwork would be ready for the x-rays.

    Then I arrived. It wasn't3 at all. The lady there4 didn't know what I was talking about. I felt my blood hot at once. I was getting so 5. Though I didn't shout at her, the way I was talking to her was not nice. The whole time she smiled and was 6 to me.

    The first day of university our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't know. I stood up to look around when a1hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled(有皱纹的) , little old lady with a smile. She2a minute and said. "Hi, handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and responded "Of course you may!" and then she gave me a big one.

    We became immediate friends. Every day for the next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I always loved listening to this "time machine"  3she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus role model and she4made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she loved the attention from the other students.

    At the end of the term we invited Rose to speak at our football club. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the platform. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her cards on the floor. A little upset she simply said. "I'm sorry I'm so nervous. I5beer for Lent(大斋节) and this wine is killing me！I'll never get my speech back in order" As we laughed, she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There is a huge6between growing older and growing up. Anybody can grow older, but it does take talents and abilities to grow up. .

    One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. However, these words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

Jeff was a poor farmer and he was short of money. His neighbours were rich and he was jealous(忌妒的) of them. Because of this, he didn't 1 his neighbours. Jeff had a vegetable field to 2 his family. As he grew old, he found it very 3 to work in the field as he had no bull toplow(犁) the field.

One day, Jeff was returning home from the 4 . On his way, he met an old man. Seeing Jeff, the old man said," What's the matter? You seem very sad."

Jeff said," Everyone around me has everything and is rich. If I had a bull, I could 5 plow the field."

The old man gave his bull to Jeff and said," This bull is yours now. Take it home. After reaching home, you must send one of your 6 to me."

Jeff felt surprised and asked," Why do you want to 7 my neighbour?"

The old man said he wanted to give the neighbour two bulls. Hearing this, Jeff was angry." He has everything. If you give two bulls to him, I won't even want this one," he said.

The old man laughed," Do you know what your 8 is? It's not poverty(贫穷) but jealousy. If you were 9 with what you have; you would probably become the happiest person in the world."

At that time, Jeff realized his problem. He 10 that he would never get jealous of others.

 There is an old tree on a dry land. The tree has so many branches(树枝). It brings shadow to hundreds of travelers.

 One day, two travelers got to the tree. They walked for a long time in the hot sun. They were too hot and tired to walk any more. Luckily, they found the big tree.

 They decided to take a rest under the tree. They slept there for a while. When they woke up, they felt hungry and one traveler climbed up the tree. But he was sad to see nothing.

 He started to say bad words to the tree. "Oh, this is just a useless tree without any fruit on." The other traveler said nothing about the tree but asked his friend to be quiet. However, the traveler in the tree still shouted at the tree.

 The tree couldn't stand the traveler at last. He said in a sad yet strong voice, "You can't be ungrateful(忘恩负义的) to me. Just look back to the moment when you got here in the hot sun! I gave you a cool and comfortable place to rest. You would die now without me!"

 Many people do much for us, but we sometimes forget to give thanks but only complain! Make sure not to say any bad words to the one who has helped you.
