    Beijing, the capital of China. This is their first visit to China. They are going to stay in China 3 three months. They want to visit some big cities like Beijing and Xi'an and old villages like

    Hongcun and Xidi in Anhui. They hope to learn 4.

    Chinese too, because it will make their trip much easier.

My pen friend is Lily. She lives in New Zealand. It's next to Australia. She is a smart girl. She likes football. She wants to be a football coach( 教 练 ). She goes to school on foot. She has a brother. His name is Jill. He is only five. He likes singing. Her father is a baseball player. Her mother is a reporter(记者). She works in a TV station(电视台). She is 40 years old She likes using computers. They both go to work by car. They are very happy. 

People are spending much money buying mystery boxes (盲盒) these days. Usually, there are toys in mystery boxes, but now shops are putting food in them. They are "leftover mystery boxes". 

They are more and more popular in China's cities, such as Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu. The food inside is near its expiration date (保质期) and will be thrown away if no one buys it. 

Each box costs little money but has a lot of food inside. I buy leftover mystery boxes from an app called Too Good To Go. Each box costs about 3 to 5 pounds (27 to 45 yuan), and there are usually three to four things inside. For example, a box I buy from the coffee shop has three kinds of bread and one cake. The box costs 3 pounds but the original price (原价) is around 10 pounds. Every time I buy a mystery box, I feel happier thinking about how much money I can save. Wasting less food is also good for the environment. 

But the boxes also bring me problems. Because I can't choose what's in the box, sometimes I get the same kind of food. Also, the food may not be nutritious (有营养的) enough. I have to make other dishes, such as a salad, to make the meal healthier. 

Lily is a little girl at school. She is shy and many students do not know her. But she enjoys playing football. Her friends and classmates always laugh at Lily for her interest in football.  ▲ , and she wants to become a great football player. 

 Every day, after coming back from school, Lily quickly finishes her homework and goes out to practise football. Her mother understands Lily's love for the sport and always encourages her to play football. 

 One day, the school says there will be a football game. Lily wants to have a try. She takes part in the game and her classmates laugh at her once again. Lily does not give up. She tries her best to score goals(进球), one after another. 

 The other students are surprised to see how well Lily plays. Their team did well with her help. They even won the game in the end. With her hard work, Lily proves(证明) herself to others. If you're strong and determined like her, you can make your dream come true one day. 

Liu Ruying is a seventh﹣grade student. She has been interested in Peking Opera（京剧）for much of her young life. It is because of the1 of her grandfather，who is a fan of Peking Opera. 

Liustarted to2 Peking Opera when she was 8. It wasn't3 for a little girl to experience the tough（艰苦的）training. "Sometimes I was tired，"she said. "But I never4 giving it up. "

In 2020，to5 China's Little Plum Blossom Opera Competition（梅花奖）for children，Liu got up at 6：00 a. m. to practice singing every day. She trained for over 20 hours every week. Her hard work6 brought her the title（称号）Little Plum Blossom. 

In January this year，Liu got the7 that in her hometown there would be a cultural exchange（交流）with other countries，with young students as cultural ambassadors（大使）. She8 to introduce Peking Opera to the world in English. She made a9 with the help of her mother. "I love traditional Chinese culture very much，especially Peking Opera，"she said in the video. "Peking Opera has a long history of about 200 years. It is10 a treasure of our country. We should do our best to develop it. . . "
