【1】Fires can burn down trees. They can hurt people. They are very dangerous. We must be careful with fires. What must we do when there is a fire? We must go outside quickly and never take the lift. We must call 119. We have a fire drill at school every year.

【2】A fire drill is not a real (真实的）fire. It helps us prepare (准备) for a real fire. First, the fire alarm sounds. Next we all line up in the classroom. Then we leave the classroom quickly. We mustn't run. We must leave all our things in the classroom.

【3】Then we walk down the stairs and go outside. We line up in the playground. Our teacher checks on us. We wait for the firemen to come.

    This is Mike's bedroom. You can see a desk and a bed in the room. On the desk, there is a backpack and three books. One is a Chinese book, the other two are English books. There is a clock on the desk, too. You can see a baseball under the desk. On the bed there is a box. Can you guess what's in the box? Ah, it's a new computer game. It's the present(礼物) for Mike's seventh birthday.

    A crow (乌鸦) is thirsty. He finds a little water in a bottle (瓶子). But the neck (颈部) of the bottle is long. The crow can't get water. The crow thinks (想) and thinks. He puts some little stones in the bottle. The water rises up (上升). Now he can drink the water. What a clever crow!

    Today is fine, and the sky is blue. Now it's nine o'clock in the morning. There's a sports meeting in the forest on the mountain.

    Look! A horse, a panda and a cat are running. Over there a dog and two tigers are jumping. Two monkeys are climbing the trees. Four birds are flying around and singing.

    There are some other animals there, too. The elephants are standing. A monkey is sitting on an old elephant. The monkey has a flag in his hand. They are all watching.  

    Dave is a clerk of a company. He has trouble getting to sleep at night. He goes to see his doctor. And the doctor gives him some extra—strong sleeping pills (安眠药). On Tuesday night Dave takes the pills, sleeps well and awake before he hears the alarm clock. He gets to the office on time, walks in and says to his boss, "I'm OK. I have no trouble getting up this morning." "That's fine." the boss roars, "but where were you on Wednesday and Thursday?"

    My name is Tom. I come from Guangzhou and live with my grandparents and parents. Now it is in July. It's my summer holiday. I' m visiting my uncle and aunt in Sydney. But it is winter in Sydney. I don't have a thick (厚的) coat for cold days. Because it's not so cold in Guangzhou even in winter. I will buy one with my aunt this weekend. I think I also need a pair of warm shoes and something else warm. I will buy some presents for my cousin, Bill. So I will be very busy this weekend.
