Tyler was a troublesome student. He sat in the back row. Every time I called him to answer questions, he'd reply with a flip（轻率的）answer. If he got it wrong, he would get very angry.
    Usually kids could sit quietly in class. However, Tyler was just loud. One day, Tyler was talking while I was teaching. I said to him, “Tyler, why not join in our discussion instead of having one of your own?” He got up from his chair, pushed it over, and shouted something I can't remember. I sent him to the office and he received a week's out-of-school punishment.
    The week was a wonderful time for me, but when it came to an end, I began to feel worried. So I came up with a plan. On the day of his return, I told him I wanted to start over with him. If he felt like he was going to lose control in class, he could step outside the door for a moment.
    From then on, Tyler was a changed student in my classroom. In fact he was a smart child and he even stopped a fight between two students one day. And he never used the privilege（特权）to leave the class for a moment. I believe that just letting him decide for himself made all the difference.
    When the year was over, he wrote me a thank-you note about how good the year had been for him. I still have it today and find it very moving to reread when I get stressed about teaching.

    Night after night, a wolf walks around a group of sheep, looking for one of them to eat, but the shepherd (牧羊人) and his dogs always make him go away.

    For many days and nights, the wolf eats and sleeps very well. The wolf enjoys himself very much. But one day, the shepherd wants to sell one of his sheep at the market. He finds the biggest and fattest sheep and brings him into town. Can you guess who it is? It is the wolf!

    Moziah Bridges was born in 2002 in the USA. He is very young, but he is a successful businessman. He has a company which sells bow ties(领结).

Moziah Bridges always believes in his born sense of fashion. He has made full use of it—by creating his own bow tie company.

    When he was 9, he and his grandmother started making bow ties for him to wear. Some of his friends liked his bow ties and want to buy them. Later Bridges started to sell them under the name of "Mo's Bows".

    His business got better and better. He also tried some different ways to make his business more successful. For example, he even took part in a reality show to get help.

    Bridges company is now worth about 1.5 million dollars. Several months ago, he signed a deal with the NBA to make bow ties with NBA team logos(标志)on them. "My dream is to be a famous person all over the world," Bridges said.

    Mary is from the USA. She has two brothers. Now her family are in China. Her father, Mr. Peterson teaches English in Xihu Middle School. And her mother works in the same school. She teaches English, too. Mary goes to school in her father's car with her mother every day.

    Mary is a nice girl student. She can speak a little Chinese. She is very lovely, so she has many Chinese friends. She teaches them English, and they teach her Chinese. Her two brothers are twins. One is Bob, the other is Bill. They look the same. They are only five. So their grandparents look after （照顾） them at home. Mrs. Peterson has many toys for the twin brothers. Bob likes to play with toy cars, but Bill likes to play with teddy bears. They are happy every day.

   One day, I was waiting for my friend at thebus station. A man came to sell1andI just smiled and said thank you. I didn't know if it was because of my smile,the young man came closer and stood2meand started talking to me. "You know, I wasn't born like this, sellingshoes. What's Frank's favorite club? Well, he likes Chinese kung fu club best. Why does he like Chinese kung fu? Because he thinks it is a good way to keep {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. Now he is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} Tai Chi(太极) with a great teacher. The teacher's classes are very helpful and relaxing. He likes telling {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to help students know about Tai Chi.
