I have two daughters and one son. They are Mary. Laura and Eric. Mary is seven. Laura and Eric are five. They watch a lot of television, maybe five hours a day.
I'm worried that it's too much. Should I limit(限制) their screen time?

The American Academy of Pediatrics(APP,美国科学会) says that older kids shouldn't watch more than1-2 hours of television every day, and that kids under the age of two should not watch any television. The shows kids watch should be educational. All in all, television shouldn't be a substitute(替代物)for activities like playing with friends, exercising or reading.

What does a Senior Tree Officer do? I am responsible for taking care of over 3, 000 trees across 36 places. I also make sure the trees are healthy and strong. |
Have you always loved trees and the outdoors? My dad has always had a love of nature. He loves watching birds, so from a young age I had a very outdoorsy childhood. |
Do you ever feel scared of heights? Tree climbing and outdoor activities were always a part of my childhood, but as you grow up, you lose that fearlessness (无畏). There are some moments when you get to the top of a tree and you're questioning a lot of things, but you have to calm down and don't overthink things. |
What do you like about trees? Their beauty. Every tree can tell a story. |
Do you have a favourite tree fact? How shallow (浅的) tree roots are! A lot of people think they go down deep, but they're actually shallow, only in the top metre of earth and wide spreading (延展). |
What is your favourite type of tree? One of my favourites is a paperbark maple. I've got one in my garden that I planted a few years ago. It's got this lovely rich dark brown bark. |
How would you describe Go Ape in three words? Adventure, fun and trees. |

Skate boarding, surfing and sport climbing were parts of the 2024 Paris Olympics. But they made their first Olympic appearance at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. These are all popular sports among young people. Would you like to give them a try?

Surfing
| Isn't it cool to ride breaking waves? Surfing is a free-spirited sport that allows you to"walk on water" with a surfboard. Surfers have their own language. "Surf's up!" means the surf is high enough to ride."Wipeout!" means to fall off your board. |
Sport Climbing
| Athletes have to climb a 15-meter-high wall. There are holds on the walls, but some of them are just big enough for a single fingertip. Climbing needs great strength, requiring the use of different muscles. Athletes can't see the wall before they compete. They must make quick decisions about which way they should take to reach the top. |
