An old man finds a very big orange on the tree in his garden. He takes it to the king. The king is very happy and gives the man a lot of money for it.
When a rich man hears of this, he says to himself, "It is only an orange. If I take my gold cup to the king, he will give me much more money for it."
The next day when the king gets the gold cup, he says to the rich man, "What a beautiful cup! I'll give you something for it. Please take this large orange."
Mrs. Brown is very fat（胖）.
"Don't eat meat or cakes," her doctor says to her.
"I'm going to stop her eating them, doctor," her husband (丈夫) says.
The next morning, Mrs. Brown makes a nice cake, and her husband eats half of it. After he goes out, Mrs. Brown cuts (切) a very small piece of the cake and eats it. It is very good. She cuts a bigger piece and eats it. In a few minutes she finishes the cake. "My husband is going to be very angry (生气)," she says. "What am I going to do?"
She makes another cake very quickly, eats half of that, and leaves half on the table.
Her husband comes back later. He sees the half of the cake on the table and he is very happy.
One night at supper Jennifer said, "I want to learn how to juggle（玩杂耍）. I brought home a book from the library. It shows me how to start juggling. I need to make some balls out of socks to practice with. Is that OK, Mom?"
"Sure," said Mom. "But don't practice in the living room. Practice in the hallway."
The next day Jennifer turned some of her brother's socks into balls. She tried the first lesson in the book. It said to put a ball on her head, nod her head(点头) and catch(接住)the ball in her hands. She did that three times.
"It's a piece of cake." she said to herself. "I'll try the next lesson."
Jennifer put a ball in her right hand like the lesson said, tossed(抛) it up, clapped her hands (拍 手), but missed catching the ball with her left hand. She tried ten times but could only catch the ball three times. She felt sad and went to her bedroom.
"Did you have fun?" asked Mom.
"It was OK," said Jennifer. "But I didn't do very well in the second lesson so I stopped practicing."
"Well, it's too early to stop practicing, Jennifer. Today is your first day. If you practice more tomorrow, you will juggle well."

Helen is my best friend. We like singing, dancing, drawing and so on（等）. She also traveling（旅行）with me. We always have a trip together.
On May 1st last year, the weather was sunny and hot. Helen and I visited the Hong Kong Museum of History. The museum is in Kowloon Park（九龙公园）. First we went to the pool in the park. We spent two hours in the pool. At noon, we were tired and hungry. So we ate lunch at Mr. Miller's home. Helen would like fruit juice. It was her favorite. After lunch, we went to the museum. We learnt about what Hong Kong was like 100 years ago. I also some photos of the old things. If you go there, you may a great time, too.
Frank lived on a farm with his parents and three brothers. He didn't play games, or go fishing, or help out with the animals like his brothers. The boy spent all of his free time sitting on the chair with his nose in a book.
"That is not a normal (正常的) boy, maybe he doesn't love us." The old sheep said to his friends, the horse and the pig.
The horse said, "I don t think so. There must be something special about those books."
The pig said, "Why don't we find out for ourselves?"
The next morning, the animals got their opportunity (机会). The animals watched them go. Then they went into the house and looked around for the boy's books. The sheep picked up a book. The horse picked up a book. The pig picked up a book.
The sheep and the pig didn't find anything special. After a moment, the horse said, "See, I told you so." The sheep and the pig looked over into the horse's book. In it were colorful pictures of animals, much like themselves. "The boy loves animals so much. " said the horse.
