Li Xue is 14 years old, and she studies at Grade 71a small town far away from Guangzhou. She is a left-behind child(留守儿童). Ten years agohis parents2to Guangzhou for work. Now she3with her grandmother. Her grandmother is so4, that she can't do anything. So Li Xue has to do5herself, such as learning to cook, doing some washing and6care of her grandmother who is nearly 70 years old.
Li Xue is quite7and good at her lessons.Her parents send her some money and she uses most of the money8food. Li Xue misses them very much. She wants to live with herparents at home,9she knows that her parents make moneyfor their better10. She hopes to get a good job, so shecan take good care of her grandmother and her parents when she grows up.
One afternoon, on my way home, I saw an accident: a car hit an old man!
I shouted to people nearby for help, but no one stopped. When the car driver saw this, he quickly closed the window of the car and drove away. "What shall I do? The old man needs help." I thought.
At that time, a truck(卡车) stopped and the driver came out. "What's wrong with the old man, boy? What can I do?" the driver asked me. "Sir, please help the old man. A car hit him and he is badly hurt!" I said. "Well, don't worry. Let me take him to the hospital first, "The driver said.
A few minutes later, the driver took the old man to the hospital and I called the police. I told the whole story to the police and I also told them the number of the car. The police said to me, "Well done, boy! Leave it to us. He must be punished(惩罚) ! "
When l got home, it was 7: 30. I think what I did was great.

My mother used to ask me what the most important part ofthe body was. I got different answers at different ages.
When I was young, I thought sound was very important to us,so l said, "My ears, Mom." But she shook her head and said no. Severalyears passed, and she asked me again. I believed that I got the right answerafter thinking it over. So l told her, "Sight is very important toeveryone so it must be our eyes." But she told me I was wrong. I triedmany times after that, but her answer was always the same. Till last year, mygrandma died. Everybody was crying, everybody was hurt. My mom looked at me andasked me with tears in her eyes, "Do you know the answer now? "I wassurprised when she asked me this question then. "My son, the answer isyour shoulder. Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on(倾诉的对象). "
Finally, l learned all she hoped is that I can have enoughlove and friends so that I will have a shoulder to cry on when I need it.
On 15th December 2009, China began to build a bridge tolink Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao. People finished building it in July 2017. Itis the world's longest sea-crossing bridge! The Y-shaped bridge is about 50kilometers altogether. 36 kilometers of it is over water. Officials say thebridge we use can last in good condition for 120 years. It can handle(承受) big earthquakes aswell as strong winds. And it will be all right even if it is hit by a 300, 000-tonship. With six car lanes(车道), a car can go as fast as100 km per hour on the bridge. It only takes 30 minutes to drive from Zhuhai orMacao to Hong Kong. Some people worry that the building of the bridge maypollute the sea and hurt sea animals. Officials say they will protect the ocean.The bridge can bring the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao closer. Building thebridge cost about ￥73 billion. Hong Kong, Macao and themainland can share the cost.
