    My friends and I had one-week trip to Bali Island in June three months ago, which was really impressive.

    It wasn't the typical trip by the sea with swimming suit at the beach. The rest of the days we would practice what we had learnt from the video with our coach, first in the pool, and then in the sea. Every day we had to dress ourselves up in the tight diving suit and a jacket with a heavy steel tank on the back

    I wasn't how most people would imagine spending their holiday. Not only did we appreciate beautiful view under the ocean, but we also felt less like tourists and more like professional divers as we learn more skills each day. This was more than just diving in life jackets. We were able to get away and explore underwater, swimming with turtles and other beautiful sea creatures in the ocean. “There are no mobile phones down there, no emails, no keys to lose, no birthdays to forget… The ocean is the last quiet place on Earth,” as a US journalist wrote in his book DEEP.

    When we had to fully concentrate on our breathing, we started to realized how we had been taking it for granted. We had never truly “felt” ourselves breathe before.

    In fact, my friends and I are already planning another diving trip to the Red Sea in the coming winter holiday. Why not join us?

A. Of course we had dived in the sea before.

B. However, we really enjoyed every minute of it.

C. It's said that diving can be attractive yet I was unsure about it.

D. The experience also allowed us to get to know ourselves better.

E. All stress, noise and troubles of life are left at the surface of the sea.

F. I've become interested in diving and have no doubt about the attraction of diving.

G. Instead, we spent our first morning siting in a room watching teaching videos about diving.

    Injuries and deaths caused by driving after drinking are preventable. Sadly, actions by the police can only catch a small number of drunk drivers on the roads. It is up to each person to make the decisions. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} So we should help guide our friends and persuade them to avoid driving after drinking. Here are some tips.

    Start talking to the person early. With every drink, judgment becomes increasingly uncontrolled. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} So as soon as your friend starts drinking, you should try to persuade him to make a plan to get home safely. Remember, after he gets drunk, he may not listen to you.

    Help the person realize he is drunk. Talk to him and show him that he is increasingly clumsy. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} For example, ask who you can call to pick him up, or what public transport he would like to use. If he knows he is drunk, he may follow your advice.

    Make last efforts. If all else fails and a drunk person wants to drive home, threaten to call the police or take his keys. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} When he is not concentrated, take his keys. This may make it easier to convince him to take a cab home. Remember, don't give him the keys even if he's angry.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#} If you once drove home after you got drunk, your friend may not listen to you. So in order to succeed in persuading your friend to avoid driving after drinking, you should behave yourself first.

A. Ask him where his keys are.

B. Set a good role model.

C. Give him an alternative way to get home.

D. But it isn't easy to make the right decisions.

E. Make him realize drinking makes him look like a fool.

F. The police will come to help you out once you call them.

G. It means the more one drinks, the less likely that he will listen to you.

    Homework is a major part of going to school: It's your teachers' way of evaluating(评价) how much you understand of what's going on in class. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Luckily, you can do a few things to make homework less work.

    Be sure you understand the homework.

    Write your homework down in your notebook or day planner if you need to. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} It's much easier to take a minute to ask the teacher during or after class than to struggle to remember later that night!

    Use any extra time in school.

    Many schools have study halls that are specifically designed to allow students to study. It's tempting (诱惑) to hang out with friends during study periods or unstructured (松散的) time. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Take a break.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} So take some breaks while doing your homework. Sitting for too long without stretching or relaxing will make you less productive than if you stop every so often. Taking a 15-minute break every hour is a good idea for most people.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    If you don't finish your homework during school, think about how much you have left and what else is going on that day, and then budget your time. Most high-school students have between 1 and 3 hours of homework a night. If it's a heavy homework day and it seems like you've got an assignment in every subject but gym and lunch, you'll need to devote more time to homework. It's a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule, especially if you are involved in sports or activities or have an after-school job.

A. Pace yourself.

B. Settle down to do homework.

C. And it helps digest important concepts (概念).

They are pulled around by questions—the ones they still can't answer, or the ones without very good answers. Those questions follow them like day follows night with the answers bringing daylight.

    Good learners share what they've learned. Good learners are teachers committed to sharing with others what they've learned. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Good learners can also explain what they know in ways that make sense to others.
