Many of us deal with the rush every morning in preparation for work or school, but it doesn't have to be this way. With a little time management, these steps can help you cut down on your morning stress.

    Create an evening preparation routine.

These simple tasks will take you less than 30 minutes to complete each evening and will save you a huge headache every morning.

    Get a good night's sleep.

Make sure you start winding down for bed at a reasonable hour to allow enough time for a healthy night's sleep.  If needed, set a bedtime reminder alarm on your alarm clock. Always keep the temperature in your bedroom comfortably cool

An extra 30 minutes in the morning will make a difference. As long as you go to bed on time, waking up 30 minutes earlier should seem natural after just a few days. Use this time to think, shower and eat breakfast.

    Plan a realistic day.

Writing things down means you don't have to worry about forgetting to do them.  Write down anything that cannot be put off to the following day.

Getting up to face a new day is far more satisfying when you have something to look forward to. Make sure you manage your time better so that you have time to do something you love on a daily basis.

Helpful tips for college-bound seniors

Researching a college is one of the most time-consuming tasks that you'll encounter.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}For example, what classes and facilities the college has to offer, and what sports it offers. After narrowing your choices to a group of colleges, you'll have to start to research these in depth.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}He or she may be able to help you find things about the colleges that you could not get yourself.

If a college doesn't have the courses I need, then it's definitely out of the picture.

Another key thing to look for is the college's testing requirements.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Some colleges also require an SAT II test in certain areas, for example English or Math. Remember to look at a college's GPA requirements, too. You may find a college where there's everything you want, but your GPA isn't high enough to be considered. In this case you may need to attend a junior college for one or two years.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}At this point you may want to have a long discussion with your parents, and find out how much they're willing and able to spend on college. If it isn't enough to cover your full tuition, then you may want to apply for financial aid or a scholarship. And your final option maybe looking for a college that doesn't cost as much.

A. All colleges require an SAT or an ACT test.

B. And lastly, but definitely not the least, is tuition.

C. Look for a college now if you plan on attending one.

D. You need to find out many basics about possible colleges.

E. If you will be a senior in the near future, this article is for you.

F. I plan to major in business management and minor in computer applications.

Does a Dog Help a Teen with Low Self-esteem?

A dog is known as man's best friend for good reason. Loyal and affectionate, a dog companion can enrich its owner's life in many ways, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Many teenagers suffer from periods of low self-esteem (自尊) as they try to navigate the wavy waters of adolescence and deal with all of its associated highs and lows. A teenager who lacks self-esteem may feel isolated from his peers and unable to tell his parents about personal issues. The company of a dog can be a huge comfort and ease feelings of loneliness and awkwardness. A dog offers genuine unconditional love. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}All dogs need exercise, so taking his clog for a walk is the perfect opportunity for a teenager to get outdoors and benefit from fresh air and physical activity. Exercise allows people to take control of their bodies, which is often the first step toward regaining control of other aspects of their life, says mental health specialist Dr. Alan Cohen. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Exercise releases chemicals called endorphins (内排肽)into the brain, which create positive responses in the body, including improved self-esteem. Dogs can help teenagers be more sociable and make new friends, suggests HELPGUIDE. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} A dog is a great ice-breaker, avoiding awkward social situations and putting the teenager at ease with people he meets. The more confident the teen becomes when out and about with his clog, the more his self-esteem will improve. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} If a teenager is suffering from depression or developing dangerous habits such as alcohol and drug abuse, more extreme action may be required. In these cases, professional help should be sought and all treatment plans considered. Parents who suspect that their teen's low selfesteem is a sign of a far more serious problem should ask a suitably qualified health professional for advice.

A. In some cases, having a dog will not help with a teenager's low self-esteem.

B. It simply accepts its owner for who he is and doesn't judge, question or criticize.

C. Pets offer an unconditional love that can be very helpful to people with depression.

D. You don't have to worry about hurting your pet's feelings or getting advice you don't want.

E. In particular, someone with low self-esteem may find a pet dog to be extremely beneficial.

F. A teen may meet his peers while walking his dog in the park or taking part in a dog training class.

G. Many forms of exercise besides walking can be enjoyed with a dog, such as cycling, jogging and throwing a ball.

With the majority of children not going into school at the moment, staff, parents and pupils are pulling together to make sure their education is a success. As a teacher, I'd like to give some tips to parents and pupils on remote learning.

FOR PUPILS

Get online, on time.

Make sure you do log on in good time for the beginning or live lessons, rather than joining the lesson ten minutes in.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Play your part.

Contribute to the lesson. Talk, put your hand up, send messages in the chat whatever they might be. Teachers and other pupils love to see that. And don't be afraid to ask questions.

Take proper screen breaks during the day.

Enjoy your break time.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Get outside, read a book, phone someone. At break or lunchtime in school you wouldn't sit in a classroom and continue to work, so you shouldn't do it at home either.

FOR PARENTS

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

It's often surprising how technologically able a young child is now, with the world of smart phones and the Internet. So let them show you what they need to be doing in class.

Give praise.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Now online, we share a lot of praise and give out school awards. They also need to be praised at home for getting their work done. Take a look at what they have been doing.

Get involved if you can.

This might be difficult for parents doing full-time jobs, but try to work together on something. We assign students research projects some of which might be challenging to them.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} And it's also good for their own well-being getting away from a laptop to make a cardboard castle or whatever it might be.

A. Let the child take the lead.

B. Keep pace with technology.

C. Don't stay sitting at your computer.

D. That's a perfect opportunity for parents to help.

E. Thus you will find the rest of the class challenging.

F. Otherwise you would have missed out on some teaching

G. At school kids are getting approval for the work they are doing well.
