    These days when someone says a computer has a bug (小虫子) in it, usually they mean that there's a problem with one of its programs. Maybe your computer crashed when you were in the middle of a game.

    But back in the early days of computers, a woman named Grace Hopper was part of a team that discovered the very first computer bug.

     She had been invited to help program a new computer, the job of which was to quickly deal with the math problems ships used to find their way. Then it translated the patterns of holes into the math problems it was supposed to solve.

    One afternoon in 1947 Hopper and her team were running a program. But the computer wasn't giving them the right results. They finally ended up taking the computer apart, looking for problems. What did they find? It was a moth (飞蛾)! The moth was blocking some of the holes in the paper— Some people think Hopper was the first person to use the word “debug” to mean “get rid of the problems in a computer”.

    Humans use electricity to light up the night sky. But did you know that nature itself can glow, too?

    While GleauX is working on glowing plants, the French company Glowee is trying to use glowing bacteria to light up shop windows and street signs. It is the same type of bacteria that causes certain sea animals to light up.

    “Our goal is to change the way we produce and use light,” said Glowee founder Sandra Rey. “We want to offer a global solution that will reduce the 19 percent of electricity consumption used to produce light.”

How to Prepare for Guests

    Guests are people whom we welcome sincerely and we should make sure they feel comfortable like they are in their home. Sometimes we get enough time to make preparations for guests, but sometimes we don't. This article will be beneficial for both these kinds of people. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Know what your guests' favorite foods are so that you can make for them and serve. Don't forget to note down if they are allergic to any certain kind of food to save the embarrassment(难堪).     Plan activities to have a good time with your guests. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If they come over the weekends then plan for some indoor activities to have fun. It's also a good way to remove your tiredness from your boring life.

How to Improve Eyesight Naturally

    Eyes are important for everybody. You must take care and try everything in your hand to keep them in good condition. Here are some of the tips to improve your eyesight naturally.

    Strain is known to be a factor in many health conditions and eyestrain is no exception. Try meditation, yoga or other methods of stress relief to improve your vision and overall health.

    Try palming.

    Sit upright in a comfortable chair.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Cup your hands so that there is no pressure on your eyes. Let your fingers rest across your forehead. There should be no light entering your eyes. Palming should be done for a period of 5 to 10 minutes to start. Palming should be relaxing. It may help to do palming in a darkened room.

    Avoid sugar as much as possible.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} It will unpleasantly affect your eyesight, which affects the eyes by producing a larger amount of insulin (胰岛素) in the blood. Therefore you shouldn't be having much fruit juice or something that contains a lot of sugar.

    Exercise your eyes.

    The only exercise most eyes get is that daily rubbing we give them when we're tired or suffering from eyestrain. But eye exercises are actually good for your eyes and can improve your vision.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Blink as fast as you can for a few seconds then close your eyes tightly, open and repeat. Do this exercise 3 to 4 times daily.

    Eat healthy.

    You probably hear that statement all the time but eating the right foods are necessary to good health.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Foods that are high in fiber, vitamin C, D and beta carotene as well as other vitamins and minerals can help improve your vision. Here are a few foods that can be beneficial to good vision: carrots, eggs, blueberries, spinach, kale, grapes, and fresh garlic.

C. Sugar is your eyes's worst enemy.

D. Give your eyes a workout with the following exercise.

E. You may not be aware that your diet affects your vision but it does.

You should stay out of damaged buildings. Be careful around broken glass. Wear shoes to prevent cutting your feet. Be careful of chimneys-they may fall on you.
