    I'm Sally, I'm a student in No.14 Middle School. This is my family tree. You can see it is a big family. My father is Jonathan, my mother is Claire. They have three children. My brother's name is William and my sister's name is Olivia. My grandparents Jerry and Elizabeth have two sons. My uncle Mike and my aunt Sarah have a son, his name is Joseph. He is my cousin. He is four years old. We all love him very much.

    It's December. It is snowy and the weather is really cold in the north of China. You can see many children playing with snow. Some of them are making snowmen. Some are skating on the river. It's so cold that the water in the river freezes (冻结). It's a white world. How beautiful!

    But in Australia, the weather is hot now. Many people go swimming in the sea. They are having a good time. Jim and his friends are playing soccer near the sea. They want to swim after playing soccer.

    Why can they swim in December? It is winter, isn't it? Yes, it is in China. But it isn't in Australia. That's because China and Australia have different seasons in a year.

    Friends are very important in people's live.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} I think it's very easy to make friends with other people and build a friendship between each other. However,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} So what is true friendship? In my opinion, true friendship includes:

    First of all, true friendship must treat their friends loyally and help each other. In other words, you must not take advantage of your friends,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} For example, some unfriendly people make friends in order to cheat money and feelings, or get a certain secret and so I don't think these are true friendships.

    Second, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}For example, if a friend is really in need of money to escape from some troubles, true friends might lend it and help him or her.

    Third,{#blank#}5{#/blank#}One of the greatest men once said:" If you tell your happiness to your friend, you will get double happiness. If you tell your sadness to your friend, you will get half.

    It's Sandra's thirteenth birthday. She asked her friends and classmates to come to her party. Her grandparents, uncle and aunt also came. They had a party in Sandra's home. They sang, danced and told some interesting stories. They had a good time here.

    But a boy about ten was sitting in the corner. He was watching the other children. He listened to the stories carefully. Sandra found him and went to him with some ice-cream(冰淇淋).

    "Hi, Robert!" said Sandra." Why not play with us? You're a smart boy. You can tell us interesting stories."

    "I, I…" the boy didn't know what to say. Mr. Hill saw it and said, "A child was smart when he was young, but maybe stupid(愚蠢的) when he grows up(长大)！"

    "Uncle, you can't say that!" Sandra said.

    "That means that you were smart when you were young, sir!" Robert answered.

    Every year, thousands of people get hurt(受伤)or die(死亡)when they are crossing the road.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}Old people often get hurt or die because they can't see or hear very well. Children usually meet with accidents(事故)because of their carelessness.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} 

    How can we lessen(减少)traffic accidents? Everybody should follow the traffic rules. For the drivers, they shouldn't drive too fast. If they drive too fast, it will be very difficult to stop the cars in a very short time.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} So, when we walk across the road, we must try to walk on the sidewalk.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Look left first, next look right, then look left again. Only when we are sure that the road is clear, we can cross it. The right way to cross the road is to walk quickly.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} If people run across the road, they may fall down. We should try to help children, old people or blind people to cross the road, and never play in the street.

    More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Instead, people will eat more fruit and vegetables. In this way, people may be healthier.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Only about 29%of the Earth's area is land and the rest is sea, so some think maybe we can get more food from the sea.

    Besides, though rice supports more than half the world's population, it needs a lot of water to grow. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Therefore, it might be impossible to grow rice in the future. Some farmers are experimenting with new crops. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}The soybean (黄豆) makes a good substitute (替代品) for rice and meat.
