A. I'm busy and tired on weekdays. So I want to relax myself at home on weekends. I like surfing the Internet.

B. I cook at home from Monday to Friday. On weekends, I usually go out to have dinner with my husband and son.

C. Skateboarding is fun. I started to learn to skateboard when I was five years old. Now I go skateboarding four or five times a week.

D. They are really good for us. I eat lots of fruit and vegetables every day. But I hardly drink milk. I think only kids can drink lots of milk.

E. I'm really busy. I have lots of movies and TV plays to make. But I want to keep in good health. So I do some running in my free time.

F. Most of us work and have meals in the day and sleep at night. A night job is different from a day job. I usually sleep for six or seven hours in the day.

    There are some differences between British English and American English. In grammar, for example, speakers of British English say "in hospital" and "Have you a pen?". Americans say "in the hospital" and "Do you have a pen?". Pronunciation is sometimes different. For example, when a learner speaks British pronunciation[da:ns] (dance), he may not understand the American pronunciation[dæns]. There are differences between British English and American English in spelling. For example, "travelled" and "honour" are British spelling, "traveled" and "honor" are American spelling. However, in most situations(情况), British English and American English are not different languages.

It was five to nine on Sunday evening. Cindy was in the kitchen. She stood there and thought happily," My parents will be home soon,"{#blank#}1{#/blank#}For the first time she made a cake for her mother, so it didn't look so good.

The kitchen was in a mess(杂乱). {#blank#}2{#/blank#}She turned off all the lights and waited excitedly in the dark. Later, she heard the key getting into the door.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

When her parents were walking in quietly, Cindy turned on the lights suddenly(突然) and said to her mother, "Happy Birthday, Mom!" A chocolate cake was waiting for them on the table.

"But Mom, I only wanted to make a..."

"Dear, "said Cindy's father, "please take a look at the table. What is that?"

"I know- it's a mess, a big mess," Cindy's mother said angrily(生气地)."I have to clean it. I'm too tired to say a word, and I can't stand looking at the table. How... !"

Cindy was not happy. She didn't think mother liked the chocolate cake.

Just then her mother saw the chocolate cake on the table.

Cindy's mother ran to her at once and said, "Sorry, my dear. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}" Then they sat down and shared the cake. They were so happy.
