Yu Rong, a Chinese artist, thinks of a new way to introduce{#blank#}1{#/blank#}ancient story of Hua Mulan in her picture book. In the book, I Am Hua Mulan, she tells the story by{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(combine) paper-cutting with international artistic styles. She places Shaanxi paper-cuts over Western-style pencil sketches(素描){#blank#}3{#/blank#} (create) a typical presentation of Chinese elements (元素), which turns out to be a{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(success) and impressive breakthrough.

    Hua Mulan{#blank#}5{#/blank#}story has been told by generations in China, is a fighter from the Northern Wei Dynasty(386-534). As a devoted daughter, she dressed herself as a man to serve in the army{#blank#}6{#/blank#}place of her father. Mulan's characteristics, such as courage, kindness and a disinterested attitude toward fame and fortune, made{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(she) one of the most respected historical Chinese heroines. Mulan's story has been adapted {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(frequent) in modern media, including TV shows, video games and literature. For example, in 1998, Disney produced a film named Mulan, which{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(consider) a great success by critics and the public.

    To better tell the story, Yu Rong takes inspiration from her several{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(visit) to sites of ancient battles and Henan Province's Yuju Opera. After years of preparation, she finally makes this extraordinary work.

    Years of expectation this time has finally arrived, there were times when I thought we would never get here. I just graduated last week. The dream {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (plant) many years ago.     Once upon a time, there was a small town. There {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (live) a man by himself who couldn't see. He was blind. Yet, he carried a lighted lamp with him whenever he went out at night.

    One night as he was coming home after having a dinner outside, he came across a group of young {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (travel). They saw that he was blind, yet carrying a lighted lamp. They started passing comments on him and made fun {#blank#}3{#/blank#} him. One of them asked him, "Hey Man! You are blind and can't see anything! Why do you carry the lamp?" The blind man replied, "Yes, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(unfortunate), I am blind and I can't see anything {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a lighted lamp which I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (carry) is for the people like you who can see. You may not see the blind man {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (come) and end up pushing me. That is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} I carry a lighted lamp". The group of travelers felt ashamed and apologized for their{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(behave). We should think before judging others. Always be polite and learn {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (see) things from others point of view.

To Be Joyful, To Be Young

    What really works to make sustainable changes in diet and lifestyle? It's probably not what you think. Two studies showed just walking for three hours per week for only three months caused so many neurons {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (grow) that it actually increased {#blank#}6{#/blank#} size of people's brains! Your face receives more blood flow, so your skin glows more and wrinkles less. You look younger and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} attractive. In contrast, an {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (health) die and smoking speeds up aging because nicotine contributes {#blank#}9{#/blank#} your blood vessel becoming narrower, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}decreases blood flow to your face and makes it wrinkle prematurely.
