Alice and John are in the music club at their school. Alice plays the violin and John plays the drums. There are two groups in the school music club: the training (训练) group and the concert(音乐会) group. Everyone starts in the training group!
"When I first started to play the violin it sounded terrible!" Alice said. "My family asked me to practice outside."
After a year's practice, Alice and John play much better now. They are both in the concert group and they are learning more difficult music. "We're learning the music from the film Pirates of the Caribbean. It sounds fantastic!" John said. "Playing in the club with other kids is a lot of fun."
Playing an instrument (乐器) is not only fun. It also helps children learn to concentrate (集中注意力). "I have to concentrate when I'm practicing," Alice said. "And now it's easier for me to concentrate on my schoolwork."
Playing an instrument can also help children become more confident (自信的). As John said, "I was scared when I played in front of a lot of people for the first time. But now I really enjoy it."

To make our digestive (消化的) system work well, we should avoid doing some things after having a meal, for example, drinking water. It is true that a person should drink 8 glasses of water every day to stay healthy. However, drinking water right after eating or even during a meal may disrupt (扰乱) digestion. It might influence the natural levels of acid and bile (酸和胆汁) that are necessary for proper digestion. What's more, drinking cold water after eating might slow down (减慢)digestion. So try to avoid drinking water at least an hour after a meal, and avoid drinking it while eating.
Though walking after eating is healthy, doing it at once after a meal is not. Doing so will make it difficult for the digestive system to take in nutrients (营养) from the food. Besides, the blood will flow towards other parts of the body, like legs, hands, etc. That will make the digestive tract(消化道) not have enough blood flow for proper digestion. So we should wait for at least 2 hours after eating, and then begin exercising.
Sleeping should also be avoided right after eating. This is because going to bed right after a meal will lead to improper digestion. What's more, such a habit will also make you put on a lot of weight. Therefore, wait for an hour or two, and then go to sleep.
Many of us have the habit of drinking tea just after lunch or dinner, which is really unhealthy. The tea leaves are rich in acid which prevents the protein(蛋白质)in the food from digesting. The best time to drink tea is at least one hour after eating.
Eating fruits right after a meal may fill the stomach with air and we'll feel uncomfortable. They will also take time to reach the digestive tract, disturbing the whole process of digestion. To protect your stomach from digestive problems, eat fruits before or after 1-2 hours of a meal.
In a word, if you avoid doing all the above things after eating, you will surely make your digestion easy, and you will be less likely to have digestive problems.

Confidence is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude (态度). A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves successful. The following is about how to be more confident.
Speak loud. When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak loud enough so that people can hear you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident.
Play sports. Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. A strong body helps you be full of confidence.
Encourage yourself. To see how many things you have done well, you can write down a list of things you did during the day. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.
Pick up a hobby. If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding. And it will make you happy and confident.
Get rid of (消除) fear. Fear comes along with failure (失败). But it's easy to overcome (克服) if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better.
