Britain is f{#blank#}1{#/blank#}as a country of animal lovers, and a many families have at least one pet. Americans also like animals, and about 60% of American families have a pet. People from other countries say that Americans think so much about animals and take them as well as people.

    At weekends people have many ways to see other animals. Many towns have a river with ducks. In Britain, people v{#blank#}2{#/blank#}farm parks, zoos, bird parks, and sea life parks.

    TV s{#blank#}3{#/blank#}about animals are very popular. Children are i{#blank#}4{#/blank#} in animals when they are very small. Children's life is wonderful b{#blank#}5{#/blank#}there are many different animals. Many animals in books have their own character: foxes are cunning(狡猾的), and cats are kind.

    We can watch stories about animals on TV. Animal World is very good. We can know more about animals. And we can see many other animals we can't see in our life.

A woman works in a factory and1her pay at the end of2week. One Saturday she got her pay and counted the3. Suddenly she found that it was wrong: there were five pounds4than she should get. She5the money in her pocket and said nothing6others. A week went by and it was pay day7. But this time there were five pounds less instead. She was so angry8she went to see the boss. "You can have your pick." a friend of mine called. Her sister's cat had had a group of kittens (小猫) just weeks before. 

I didn't know if I was ready yet, but it appeared she wouldn't easily give up. "I think it would be a1 for you, Shawon. You can't miss it. "

"Okay," I finally said. "How old are the kittens?"

"They were 2 on March 22."

March 22 this year, the day I would never3 . Sue, my wife, passed away on the same day. A series of memories rushed to my mind. 

For nearly ten years, Sue had been fighting cancer (癌症) . Through the whole painful journey, Boomie, our old cat, was there. He joined Sue on the sofa while she had a short sleep, feeling completely4 from the latest treatment. His antics (滑稽的动作) could bring a smile to Sue's face when the pain was at its5 . Sue loved Boomie very much, and it was a love Boomie returned. Boomie even comforted her after she lost her6 .
