On the day of the interview, I got up at 6:00 in the morning. I got to the interview place without having1. l was the 24th interviewee(应聘者) and the 22nd was a short ordinary- looking girl. I greeted her by2my head. I asked her where she graduated. She told me in a low3, "I graduated from a junior college， the only one without getting a bachelor' s degree(学士学位) among the 50 interviewees.

I didn't4he interview would last so long. As I didn't have breakfast, my stomach started to ache. I had to sit by the table for a5. Just at that time, the girl asked me6happened, I told her, "I didn't have breakfast this morning, so my7comes to me.

    After a while, a worker came in and8me a bottle of milk and a piece of bread. It was certain that they were bought by the girl. I felt9all over my heart because I hadn't imagined she would be so nice to help me- her rival(竞争对手).

Luckily, I got the job. The first day I went to work, I was10to see the girl there. She also got the job. Later I asked her why she got the job. She said11a smile, "That day when I bought you the12, an interviewer went to the toilet with papers in hands. He asked me13I could help him to copy those papers while he was in the toilet. At that moment, I came to know that when the girl helped me and the interviewer, she also helped15.

According to some old Chinese stories, there once was  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ancient emperor named Shennong.  At  that time, people could not tell the difference between medicinal (药用的) and poisonous (有毒的) plants.  When they got sick, there was no medicine to treat their illnesses.  Many sick people could only wait for {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (die). 

To save his people, Shennong decided {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (find) and test out different plants.  He and his followers {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (set) out on a journey in search of medicinally effective plants.  Once, they saw a large forest on a high cliff (悬崖) from a distance.   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  there must be many different kinds of plants, they couldn't find a way to the cliff.   {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  (sudden) , they saw some monkeys climbing along the vines and trees hanging down from the  cliff.  Shennong was inspired by the scene.  He asked his followers to cut down the tree trunks and vines.  Together they built a scaffold (脚手架).   With its help, they climbed to the cliff and collected many {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (value)

plants. 

Each time the team found a new type of plant, Shennong would taste it  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (he).  Some plants made him sleepy.  Some caused him to suffer pains in his stomach.  Some made him tremble ( 颤抖) all over.   {#blank#}9{#/blank#} searching and testing over a long period of time, he and his followers managed to discover hundreds of medicinal plants. 

One day, Shennong tested a poisonous plant by mistake, and passed away later.  People covered him with thousands of flowers.  From then on, Shennong {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (call) the "Emperor of Medicine". 

It is true that people with better education* are usually able to get better paying jobs. In other words, they have more chances to choose a good job while people with little or no education don't. It seems that the purpose* of education is to make people get jobs. But not all the people agree with this idea.

Some people may think that a person should spend the best years of his life to get education in order to make more money in the future. This was probably one of the earliest purposes of education. In fact, if education is just a way to make a living, people don't need to spend so much time in school. They can get education for a living in a short time. Subjects like history and geography need not be taught to everyone. And people don't have to learn maths and languages so carefully. So it is clear that education is much more than teaching a man to get a way of living.

So what is education for? Education is well-rounded and it should improve a man in many ways. It is not only to teach him to speak, read and write, but also to develop his creative* thinking and other abilities. After that, it is to make him a wise man and thankfully enjoy the achievements of human. Education is to make a man lead a better life. Educated people are expected to be able to listen to good music, read good books, watch plays and most of all, take an interest in the world.

I would agree that making a good living is an important reason for education, but certainly not the most important or the only reason.

I never thought about being a collector.  But a few years ago all my friends had the hobby of 1 something.  Some of them collected stones.  Some collected dolls.  Others collected postcards.  I thought I should collect something too.  I wanted to collect something 2 because I didn't want to follow others.  3 , I decided to collect glasses from different places.  When I went to a new place, I 4 one there.  I thought this would make me think of all the places I visited. 

Soon all my friends heard of my hobby and 5 buying me glasses from all the places they visited.  Therefore, my 6 grew bigger and bigger.  I didn't have enough 7 for them.  It was 8 as I didn't even want glasses from places I had not visited.  Finally I 9 them all to my friend Jenny.  She was just starting a 10 collection. 

From my story, I want to tell you something: Do not collect things that you don't want. 

Did you know something about sign language（手语）? Sign language is the main way for deaf people to communicate. Since they can't hear, talking to hearing people can be hard. Luckily, sign language interpreters（译员） are there to help.

Hao Shuxin, 24, sees sign language as her mother language, because her parents are deaf. "I picked up sign language before I could even talk," she said. In2018, she became a sign language interpreter in Chongqing. Her work takes her to places like courts（法庭）, where she interprets for deaf people in legal（法律上的） cases.

Since sign language has fewer words, Hao often meets difficult words without direct match. In such situations, she carefully breaks down the meaning for deaf people. There are also grammatical differences between Chinese and sign language. "For example, the words 'put out a fire' are signed as 'a fire put out' in sign language, as deaf people describe what they see first," Hao explained.

Hao feels stressed at work because being correct is important in interpretations. Her worry also comes from the fact that sign language has "dialects". The same word can be expressed with different hand gestures（手势） depending on where a deaf person is from. "For example, people in Shanxi and Chongqing use different gestures for the word 'true'," Hao explained. Having traveled to over 30 cities in China, she has learned about the special ways for deaf people across the country to use sign language.

In her spare time, Hao reads many law books and talks with lawyers and her deaf workmates to improve her ability. "My parents are deaf, so I understand the difficulties faced by the deaf community. I want to do everything I can to help them, and I hope more people will join us," Hao said.
