Cinyee Chiu, an artist from Taiwan, is always happy to try something new. Her amazing works won lots of prizes. Among them, "24 Solar Terms (节气)" is the most popular.

Ancient Chinese divided a year into 24 parts according to the changes of the weather. It's the 24 solar terms. But not everyone knows them well. Cinyee Chiu put the 24 solar terms in pictures to help people understand them better.

Cinyee turned each solar term into an animal. But these animals are not just animals. You can also find seasonal fruits, vegetables or beautiful flowers on them.

When spring comes, water gets warm and fish start to swim around. So Cinyee chose fish as a symbol of Start of Spring. Also, she drew spring vegetables, Chinese chives (韭菜) on the back of the fish.

White Dew (露珠) falls on about Sept. 8. It shows the beginning of the cool autumn. There are colorful leaves and cooler nights at this time of year. As the temperature falls, white dew is often seen on the grass and trees at night. For White Dew, Cinyee chose a raccoon (浣熊)—a small animal with thick hair. She drew white spots (小圆点) on the raccoon to show dew. And she used the dragon fruit to show the rich colors in autumn.

The young artist really gave the ancient Chinese culture a new look.

①The other day, I was waiting for a train—angrily. The train was late, which meant I would be late to meet a friend at the theater. Like many people, I hate being late. However, I often find myself running late. What's the problem? Michaela Thomas, a psychology (心理学) expert, says I'm a "time optimist". "Time optimists" often wrongly predict how long something will take. As a result, they are often late for meetings or rush things at the last minute.

②"Time optimists" usually get into trouble. Their lateness makes people around them angry, and they go through a lot of stress themselves. How can they fix their ways?

④But Fuschia Sirois, a psychologist, says that the problem of "time optimists" is not only about their time management, but also about their poor feeling management. Sometimes, people have too much going on with their work and family, and they often go for the easy fix—to procrastinate (拖延). Sirois suggests having a better understanding of your future self. For example, you are up against a deadline, but you are feeling tired and want to put off the task. Ask yourself, "Will I magically be energetic on the second day? If I can't really do it all tomorrow, why not start doing it today?" In fact, that future you will probably feel even more stressed about the task when it's late.

 Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday. It is one of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} four top traditional Chinese festivals with a history of over 2, 000 years. 

 Dragon Boat Festival {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( fall) on the fifth day of the fifth month lunar. This year, Chinese will have a 3-day public holiday {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Saturday to Monday for celebrations. The dragon boat race is one of them. And it is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( warm) welcomed. 

 Many believe that Dragon Boat Festival {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( celebrate) to remember the death of Qu Yuan, a famous Chinese poet. He jumped into the Miluo River for his country. The local people searched for Qu Yuan's body, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} failed. To stop fish from harming his body, people threw zongzi into the river {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( feed) the fish. Over time, eating zongzi and the boat race have been the traditional activities of Dragon Boat Festival. 

 Do you know that" Happy Dragon Boat Festival" might not be a good greeting for {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( we), although it sounds quite natural? For we Chinese, "Safe and Healthy Dragon Boat Festival" is much {#blank#}9{#/blank#}( popular) than that greeting. 

 In addition to Chinese, many other {#blank#}10{#/blank#}( country) also celebrate this festival. For example, in Singapore, the local seafood is used to make zongzi. Actually, Dragon Boat Festival has been a world-wide festival today. 

My grandmother Florence is eighty this year.She is an incredible woman.She is my favourite member of our family.We all call her Granny F, and she lives independently in a small bungalow (平房) with her black cat Sheba and a canary (金丝雀) called Dingles.

Her cosy home has a tiny kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a bedroom, with a lovely backyard where she enjoys sitting in summer.She leads an active life and goes for an early morning walk in the park every day.Being very independent, she manages all household tasks herself, from cooking to cleaning.

In her free time, Granny F keeps herself busy with various activities.She is an avid (热衷的) reader of books, magazines and daily newspapers.Every Saturday, she visits the local market and works in her garden.She also enjoys spending time with her friends.

Granny F has a large family—four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.On Sundays, we all gather at her house for tea and her delicious chocolate cake.While we discuss the week's news, the children play in the backyard.We all love and care deeply for our wonderful grandmother.
