China has a very long history. It has many great traditional skills that have a wide influence (影响). Here we mainly talk about kites.

    The earliest mention of a kite in ancient China dates back to the 5th century BC. It was made of wood and used as a rescue signal (求救信号).

    At the time between 770 and 221 BC, Chinese kites were actually called "muyuan". They were first invented in Shandong Province for military purposes (军事目的). The kites were used to send important messages during the Chu-Han War. During the Tang Dynasty, kites were made of lighter materials, such as bamboo, silk and paper. At that time, people began to fly kites for other purposes. It was believed that letting go of the kite could remove bad luck and illness.

    Today, kite-flying is an interesting and healthy activity in China. There are large kite-flying festivals held throughout the country, and kite makers can show off their skills during the festivals.

What do you dream of doing in the future? We did a survey about jobs that students are going to do when they grow up. 100 students at the Hill School gave their answers. Here are the results.

35% of the students hope to be famous stars. Some of them like music, so they want to be musicians. Some like sports, so they would like to be basketball or football players.

30% of the students are going to be IT engineers. They think the job must become more and more popular, because the computer and the Internet are changing our life and making our life easier. People can do lots of things on the computer with the Internet, such as shopping and communicating with others.

15% of them hope to be scientists. They decide to try their best to study and they want to make our country stronger and better.

10% of the students plan to start their own businesses (公司). Then they can have more time to do what they want to do and maybe they will make much money one day.

There are other jobs for the students to choose, such as doctors, teachers and drivers. The last ten students decide to choose these jobs.

It's great and important to have a dream. Remember not to give up your dream. One day it may come true.

If you go to the forest with friends, always stay with them. 1 you don't, you may get lost. If you really get lost, this is what you 2 do: sit down and stay where you are. Don't try to 3 your friends—let them find you by staying in one place. 

There is 4 way to help your friends or other nearby people to find you. Give them a signal（信号）by shouting or whistling,（吹口哨）three times. Stop. Then shout or whistle 5 times again. Any signal given three times is a call for 6 .

Keep up the shouting or whistling 7 three times together. When people 8 you, they will know that you are not just making noise for 9 . They will let you know that they have heard your signal. They will give two shouts, two whistles or two gun shots（枪声）. When someone gives a signal, it is 10 to a call for help. 

William Shakespeare was a famous English playwright and poet. Born in 1564 in England, Shakespeare {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( consider) one of the greatest dramatists of all time. His plays have been performed more times than those of any other dramatist. This, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( undoubted), makes him one of the greatest minds.

Shakespeare's works explore human nature and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( true) of social problems through his plays. Some of his most famous works, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, still remain {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( power) even today.

Shakespeare left school {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the age of 14. Then, he made a decision {#blank#}6{#/blank#}( find)a career in acting. In 1592, he moved to London and joined a theatre company. It was a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( turn) point for him. He quickly rose to become {#blank#}8{#/blank#} successful actor and began writing his own plays. Altogether, Shakespeare wrote about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and several long and short poems. He died in 1616。{#blank#}9{#/blank#}, his works still continue to encourage audiences worldwide.

Today, Shakespeare's plays are still performed in English and many other languages, especially in different{#blank#}10{#/blank#}( university) around the world. His works have been shaping the way stories are told and understood.

Couplets (对联) are very popular {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Chinese people. At first, people {#blank#}2{#/blank#}red paper instead of peach wood charms(桃符) to {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the Spring Festival couplets. After Qing Dynasty, the couplets{#blank#}4{#/blank#} once very popular. Lots of famous couplets appeared. With the development of the international cultural exchange, the couplets were also{#blank#}5{#/blank#} to Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Singapore and other {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. The customs of sticking these couplets still{#blank#}7{#/blank#} now.

 Couplets are usually {#blank#}8{#/blank#}different shapes and colors. Nice words and sentences are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} on the couplets. Different couplets are put on doors, walls or windows as symbols of wishes for good luck{#blank#}10{#/blank#}a happy new year.

 National Smile Month is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( large) and longest month health activity in the UK. Starting in 1977, it is celebrating its forty-third birthday from May 14{#blank#}2{#/blank#}June 14 in 2020.

 The British {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( know) for their bad teeth because they have too many sugary foods and drinks. It seems {#blank#}4{#/blank#}most of them don't often show their feelings. They neither smile nor cry. But this is NOT true. The British like to smile as much as anyone else. They just don't want to show their bad teeth.

 Brush your teeth at least twice {#blank#}5{#/blank#}day, cut down sugary foods and drinks, and visit the dentist often. With the three messages, the organizers hope that a month of smiling will make people all around the UK realize the importance of good teeth and be confident enough {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( open) their mouths to smile.
