You talk for a long, long time. Any silly topic can become interesting. Any joke you tell to each other makes you laugh loudly. These may be the most fun parts of hanging out (闲逛) with friends. Unlike being with one's parents, hanging out with friends is good for developing social (社交的) skills. "If we have different ideas, we usually take a vote (投票) to decide where to go," said Yang Kaiyue, a 14-year-old schoolgirl from Anhui.
In China, most kids like to go shopping, go to the cinema and have lunch or dinner together. . And kids in the US often play video games together or play sports, like basketball, in the park.
What should you remember when you are hanging out with friends?
Choose a time when your friends are all free. It is even more fun to play with a group of friends than just one.
When you are hanging out at a friend's home, do not be afraid of making a mess (弄乱). Share the money equally (相等地). Do not let one person pay all the money unless it is a special treat (请客).
Choose the place before you go so that you will not waste time deciding where to go.
The Art of Paper
Chen Zijiang is a paper cutting expert whom I interviewed for my article on Chinese Art. Paper-cutting is something that he learned to do from an early age.
"It is a Chinese folk art with a long history," Mr. Chen told me, "Paper cuts of animals have been found in tombs. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}" He added that by the Southern Song Dynasty, paper-cutting had become an important part of everyday life.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#}They are paper cuts for decoration, for religious purposes (宗教目的) and for design patterns.
Paper cuts for decoration are often seen, on windows and gates. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}They are also used on presents. A present for parents whose child has recently been born might show a paper cut of children, for example. Paper cuts which show the Chinese character for double happiness are often used to celebrate weddings.
Paper cuts for religious purposes are often found in temples{#blank#}4{#/blank#}
The third kind of paper cuts are these used to make patterns on clothing. They are also sometimes used to decorate jewelry (珠宝) boxes. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

Keep calm(冷静的). Sometimes, you feel so angry that you really want to teach somebody a lesson. But being angry isn't the answers to problems. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} It may bring you more problems. In the school, everyone will be punished(惩罚) if he gets into a fight. There are no winners in a fight.
Shout loudly. If you know someone is coming up behind you to attack(攻击),turn to the person and say"stop" loudly before walking away. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If the person doesn't stop, shout for help by calling out the name of a teacher around you.
Learn to say no. Your friend may ask you to join in a fight, but helping him fight is not really helpful to him. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Also, you can tell him if he gets into a fight, he may get hurt and be punished. Then, try to learn why he wants a fight and help him find a right way to solve the problem.
