No matter what you want to do with your life, you'll need an education first. You make your own future. You want to be a doctor, a teacher, or a police officer? A good education is required for every single one of those careers (职业). And what you're learning in school today will decide whether your country can meet the greatest challenge in the future. 

The truth is, being successful is hard. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures. For example, the first book of J.K. Rowling, the writer of Harry Potter, was refused 12 times before it was finally published (出版). Michael Jordan was once kicked off his high school basketball team. He lost hundreds of games and thousands of shots during his career. But he said, "I have ailed over and over again in my life. But that's why I succeed." These people succeeded because they understood that the failures were the mother of their success. So if you get a bad grade, that doesn't mean you're stupid. In fact, you need to spend more time studying.

58-year-old Zhang Xiping , a build farmer, was chosen to be one of the 2022 Chinese Filial Piety figures (中华慈孝人物) during the 8th Chinese Filial Piety Cultural Festival held in Hangzhou.

Zhang was born in 1964 in a small village in Shanxi province. His father passed away early and it was hard for his mother to raise him by herself. He wanted to make big money so that his mother could live comfortably. In 1984, Zhang heard sister in-law was raising chickens and selling eggs, so he decided to learn and do it himself.

Every night, he spends about three hours picking eggs for sale, putting each one carefully on top of another inside two baskets. And every morning, he wakes up at 5 o'clock, carries the two baskets weighing over 90 kilograms, and goes to a market street over 30 kilometers away from home. He walks more than 30,000 steps and passes by hundreds of streets per day.

For the past 38 years , he has been raising chickens and selling eggs to support____ his adopted (领养) daughter and now 87-year-old mother. Through his efforts, he has made a good living and even built a new house for his family to live in.

Although his physical disability has made him experience more difficulties in life than normal people, Zhang feels kindness from those around him. " As a disable person, I don't have much to give back to others. When I die, I will donate(捐献) my body to the hospital for scientific research," said Zhang.

Near Aunt Rabbit's house, there are five apple trees. She always asks her friends to eat her apples.

One day, a little monkey Jim comes. Aunt Rabbit says to him, "Little Monkey, come and have an apple!" Jim is so happy he likes apples very much. He goes up the trees and gets many apples down. He eats very fast. He thinks they're yummy.

The next day, Jim comes again( 又一次). "Aunt Rabbit, my grandpa is ill. He wants to eat some apples. Can you give me some?"

"Sure! There is a bag of apples. You can take it!" she says.

"Thank you!" Jim says happily. But after(在……之后) he leaves Aunt Rabbit's home, he eats all the apples.

After two days, Aunt Rabbit goes to ask for her bag. On the way, she finds some apple pits ( 核 ). "Jim cheats(欺骗) me!" She thinks. Then, she takes them to Jim's home.

After seeing them, Jim's face turns red and he says, "Sorry".

"That's OK. You are still(仍然) welcome to my home." says Aunt Rabbit happily.

Zhang Daqian was born in 1899 in Sichuan. He came from an art-loving family His mother first taught him painting. He copied lots of great paintings he could see. Shitao and Bada Sbanren influenced him a lot. In the early 1940s, Zhang studied the Buddhist wall paintings in Dunhuang for two years. This was important for his art growth. 

Zhang's works are famous for his many painting styles. He could paint detailed portraits(肖像). He was creative and had his own style, but his art was based on Chinese tradition. People like his later works, especially his lively splashed-ink landscapes. 

When Zhang was old, he mastered the art of "painting from heart to hand". In 1971, he chose this phrase for a stamp. This phrase has two meanings. First, Zhang was proud that he could paint nature's different things with various styles. He got this ability by copying old masters' works, making his art combine many historical styles. He also traveled a lot, which gave him more life experience to paint the world's beauty. Second, the phrase shows Zhang's belief that an artist should follow his heart to show "spirit harmony". This is an old idea about Chinese painting beauty Before painting, Zhang knew what he wanted to paint and what feeling he wanted to show. He knew how to amaze people with his paintings. 

Zhang lived a long life and died at 83 in 1983. He was energetic. He painted many paintings in his life, about 500 per year on average. 

In 2011, Zhang became the most popular Chinese artist at auction(拍卖会), more popular than Pablo Picasso. People still want his works very much.
