Both my wife and I are running lovers. I usually run on the track (跑道) in my neighborhood. Most people walk on the track, so I am 1 than them. My speed seems amazing to the walkers and I often pass by them twenty or more times around the track. This makes 2 feel proud.

One day, a short man came. I saw him out of the car and do exercise 3 running. Then he started running and he was fast. I 4 up and managed to catch up with him. I had someone to compete with. But after a lap (圈), I fell behind him and had great 5 in breathing. After two laps, my foot began to hurt, 6 I had to slow down and began to run at my usual speed. This time I could breathe again and the pain in my foot went away. In a very short time, I was far behind him. He was too fast for me to 7 .

That day, I learnt several lessons. In 8 , there will always be those slower and faster. Some have natural talent, and some have trained harder. Don't judge a person by how he or she looks.

The point is that we each have our own speed. When we are trying to keep up, we often 9 hurting ourselves and being out of breath. Don't run fast when you should be running 10 . Don't run at all when you should be walking.

 Boys and girls, what sport do you like? Do you like skiing(滑雪)?I can't do it. It looks very difficult! Do you know Gu Eileen? She is a great ski player. Her father is American and her mother is Chinese.

 Now she is 20 years old. Why does she look beautiful and strong? First, she thinks good eating habits help her to be healthy. For breakfast, she likes eggs and milk. She has vegetables and chicken for lunch. For dinner, she likes salad and fish. Beijing duck is her favorite food but she doesn't eat too much. Second, when all her classes finish from Monday to Friday at school, she must do more sports.

 Gu wins two gold medals(奖牌) in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics(冬奥会). Now, she is a big star in China and in the world.

 The summer holiday is over. It's true that time always flies fast. During the holiday, the weather was hot and I could not do much work, but I lived happily. 

 As the afternoon was hot, I did my work in the morning. I used to get up at 6:30 and take a walk in the garden for half an hour. After breakfast, I began reading English and Chinese and worked on some maths problems. These took me three hours or more. I worked quite hard and made good progress(进步). 

I spent the afternoon outside. I went to swim and it was fun. I would not go home until it was about five or six o' clock. Sometimes a friend of mine would come to see me and we would spend some hours listening to music. 

 In this way I spent my holiday happily. And I not only made up some of my lessons, but also became a good swimmer. Now I am in good health and high spirits. 

International Day of Families

The International Day of Families is celebrated on May 15 every year. It is to raise people's attention to the happiness and progress of the family. To celebrate the 30th International Family

Day this year, Family Center will hold some family activities. 

Activities for the family:
☆ Family sports. 

☆Reading a letter to your family. 

☆A cooking competition among families. 

Time: 9:00 a. m. -5:00 p. m. , on May 15th

Place: on the South International Square

Prize:  first prize-a five-day foreign tour

second prize-a seven-day domestic(国内的)tour 
third prize-a four-day domestic tour

Rules:

Each family can choose two or three kinds of activities. When you sign up(报名), you should make a decision. All the letters must be written by families themselves. They will not be returned, so please keep a copy. Don't be late, or you'll not be allowed to take part in these activities. Families who want to take part in the activities must hand in their application forms(申请表)before May 5th or you can call 2877-2197 to sign up before May 10th. And we will provide breakfast and lunch.
