China has a very long history. It has many great traditional skills that have a wide influence (影响). Here we mainly talk about kites.

    The earliest mention of a kite in ancient China dates back to the 5th century BC. It was made of wood and used as a rescue signal (求救信号).

    At the time between 770 and 221 BC, Chinese kites were actually called "muyuan". They were first invented in Shandong Province for military purposes (军事目的). The kites were used to send important messages during the Chu-Han War. During the Tang Dynasty, kites were made of lighter materials, such as bamboo, silk and paper. At that time, people began to fly kites for other purposes. It was believed that letting go of the kite could remove bad luck and illness.

    Today, kite-flying is an interesting and healthy activity in China. There are large kite-flying festivals held throughout the country, and kite makers can show off their skills during the festivals.

Last Sunday, Claire's dentist told her the bad news:she had to start wearing braces (牙箍). Some of her teeth were not growing in straight. They might bring problems to her other teeth. 

Claire was not happy with the news. She thought of all the food she couldn't eat. She thought she would have a different smile. She did not want to have something different from others. 

The big day came, and Claire made her way to the dentist's office. Claire watched a TV show when the dentist put braces on her teeth. She tried to think of something fun so that she did not get scared. It seemed to take forever(要花很长时间) for the dentist to finish . . . . In the end, the dentist told her to sit up and gave her a mirror. 

Claire looked at herself in the mirror. Her smile was new, but she didn't like it. Claire's mom took her to get ice-cream to make her feel better. She just had to get used to(适应) the braces. It would all be worth(值得) it because she would have a beautiful smile two years later!

I often hear some students say English is difficult, and they can't learn 1 well. But English is very easy for me. I'm good at it, and I'm very 2 to tell you something about how I study English.

First, I think an interest in English is very important. When I began to learn English, my teacher often taught us 3 an active way. It made me become interested in it. I worked hard at it and often got very good marks. The harder I did in it, the 4 I learned it. As a result, I could do better and better in it.

Second, you'd better have good 5 to learn it, such as listening to the teacher carefully, speaking bravely and reading aloud every day. 6 , you should practice again and again. I also have a good habit. That is whenever I have a problem, I will ask my teacher for help. It really 7 me a lot.

Besides, I often read stories, jokes and easy novels in English. From them I learn 8 is not only interesting, but also useful. Reading helps me to review what I have learned and improve my English a lot. So I think doing more 9 is an important way to learn English well.

Of course, if you want to get good 10 in an exam, it's necessary for you to do some exercises. I hope my ways can help you.

We all know the danger of fires. It's good and important for a family to learn how {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(prepare) for a fire. Here are some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(suggest). 

Make escape (逃脱) plans. If there is a fire, everyone follows the plan to get out. And check all {#blank#}3{#/blank#} windows to make sure people can open them easily.

Practise for a fire. We do fire practice so that we can teach children {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fire safety. Everyone in the family should know the following fire rules:

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(not open) a hot door! The fire can grow more quickly if you open the door. 

Stay close to the floor! Smoke can be {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(dangerous) than fire. The best air is near the floor {#blank#}7{#/blank#} smoke will rise very quickly. 

{#blank#}8{#/blank#} will you do if your hair or clothes start to burn (燃烧)?{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (one), don't run! The fire burns faster because of more air. Then roll (打滚)! Turning over and over will make the fire go out. Put a blanket (毯子) around you {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(keep) the air away from the fire that may still be on you. And most importantly, call 119 for help if there is a fire.
