When Robert was about two years old, he tried to remove a bottle of milk from the fridge but it fell, spilling (洒出) milk all over the kitchen floor.

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of shouting at him or punishing him, she said, "Robert, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have seldom seen so much milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up?"

In fact, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, "You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, finally you have to clean it up and bring everything back to its proper order."

After they cleaned up the spilled milk, his mother then said, "You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it."

The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. At that moment he knew he didn't need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just good chances for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment "doesn't work", we usually learn something valuable from it.

The 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games has come to an end. At this Asian Games, the Chinese swimming team won a total of 58 medals:28 1 medals, 21 silver medals and 9 bronze medals(铜牌), ranking first in the gold medal list in 2 . And the number of gold medals is the3 in the history of the Asian Games. Ye Shiwen is 4 the many " gold medalists"(金牌获得者). 

At the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, 14- year- old Ye Shiwen 5 two gold medals. In  2012, she also won two gold medals at the London Olympic Games. 6 after 2014, she couldn't do as well as before. " But if I 7 like thiș, I may not be able to overcome the difficulties in my life in the future. " Ye Shiwen said. So she chose to return to the swimming po ol to train 8 , and finally won the gold medal in the Hangzhou Asian Games after 9 years. 

From 9 competitions, we can learn that we should have a strong will. When we10 difficulties, we should never give up. 

Hello! This is my family tree. Bob is my grandpa and Lily is my grandma. They have three children—a daughter and two sons. Their daughter is my mum Kate. She's 42. Uncle Sam is 39. He has a son. Uncle Jack is 36. He and Aunt Mary have a son and a daughter. They are Dove and Jane. I have a sister. She's 5. She's as old as (和..... 一样大) Uncle Jack's son.

For most people, graduation(毕业) is an exciting day. But my graduation day was not.

I remember that weekend two years ago. Family and friends had1 from across the country to watch our class walk across that stage. We had degrees, but very few job chances because of the 2 economy (经济). I knew that the next day I  3 school, I would no longer have a place to call home.

I knew my small university town couldn't offer me any opportunities, so I drove to southern California to find 4 . I thought it would take a week to find one, but it 5 for two weeks, and then four weeks, and I found myself in the 6 spot(点) I was in before.

I turned my 11  feelings into a children's book—about a surprising hero who simply refused to 12 on his dream.

Then one day, without a writing degree or experience in the writing world, 13 a lot of hard work —I was offered a publishing (出版) deal for my first book! After that, things started to get 14 . I was 15 a second book deal. Then, a few months later, I got an interview with a big company and got a good job. 

It takes time, but just hold on — change can happen when you least expect it.
