Most students find it d{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to lear n English well. They have so many problems when they are learning English. In fact, it's easy to learn it well if you follow my a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. First, try to p{#blank#}3{#/blank#} the words c{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. It is very important for you to i{#blank#}5{#/blank#} your pronunciation. Then, you'd better read English as loudly as you can. You must read English every day and try to speak English more often. Just as the saying goes, "P{#blank#}6{#/blank#} makes perfect." So don't be s{#blank#}7{#/blank#} to speak to foreigners. Well, how to improve other skills like reading and listening? We usually feel it very difficult to follow the foreigners when we speak to them. It's impossible to u{#blank#}8{#/blank#} all the words. They usually speak so fast. We should catch the k{#blank#}9{#/blank#} words or the main ideas. And doing more reading every day is also the b{#blank#}10{#/blank#} thing you need to do.

"Robots, drones(无人机) and AI will do around 90% of the housework by 2040, " scientists from King's College said. 

Mischa Dohler and Dr. Ian Pearson wrote a report to predict what homes will look like in 20 years. In it, they said that housework like washing the clothes and doing the dishes would be much easier because of technology progress(进步). If technology kept making progress, they expected that people would spend less than two hours a day in doing housework. 

But most British people still don't believe their predictions. Just 2/5 of the people think that house robots will become a reality(现实) by 2040. 

BLACK FRIDAY

You probably know about Singles Day (November 11) in China. On this day, people usually stay up very late at night to shop online in order to{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a lot of money. Well, the US has something similar called Black Friday.

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Last year it fell{#blank#}2{#/blank#}November 29. It's the start of the holiday shopping season and most people don't have to go to work that day. So they start to think about what gifts they want to{#blank#}3{#/blank#}for Christmas.

While Singles Day is usually for online{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, a lot of shopping on Black Friday is done at actual stores. Shoppers look for things especially on electronic products,{#blank#}5{#/blank#}as televisions, computers and video game systems. These things usually have{#blank#}6{#/blank#}prices, but on this day, a few of them are sold at the very low sale prices. So people often fight over these things.

Some people will{#blank#}7{#/blank#}in line for hours before midnight when stores finally open. People camp out in the cold and sometimes get hurt{#blank#}8{#/blank#}the doors are opened and people rush in.

But lately a few stores will start sales even{#blank#}9{#/blank#}on Thanksgiving Day. They do this to hopefully get{#blank#}10{#/blank#}shoppers and stay ahead of the competition.

I'm Jack. Paul is my good friend. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}him in the school every day. We're in the same {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Paul is from England. There are five people in his {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. They are his grandfather，his {#blank#}4{#/blank#}，his sister and him. His father，Mr. Miller，is a doctor. His {#blank#}5{#/blank#}，Mrs. Miller，is a teacher. Paul and his sister Sally {#blank#}6{#/blank#}in their mother's school.

Hi, Kwame. Congratulations on winning the award for Best Animation at the African Movie Awards! Can you tell us a bit about The Legend of Ngong Hills?

Yes. The film is based on a Maasai traditional folktale. The Legend of Ngong Hills is the creation story of a scenic mountain range on the outskirts of present- day Nairobi. The story is centered around the frightful ogre of the forest, who has a habit of attacking the nearby Maasai village. As the story goes, he falls in love with, and eventually gets trapped by a beautiful village girl.

When did you first become interested in African folktales?

As a child. I remember being told many stories by African storytellers, reading picture books, and watching films. I was especially taken with the famous West African character Anansi the Spider. Anansi is a fictional character who, in some stories, is human and can change into a spider or vice- versa. He's always described as a naughty character who pits his wits (斗智斗勇) against superior strength, usually with success. In many different versions of these tales, Anansi weaves his way in and out of trouble and teaches the audience life lessons. This really captured my imagination. From there, I became very interested in African and African Diaspora stories. These folktales tend to lend themselves perfectly to the medium of animation as they often have elements of fantasy like talking animals and magical powers.

 Why do you think it is important to retell these folktales?

Folktales usually shed light on a moral dilemma in the form of metaphor. I think African folktales stand out because they blend creation stories with a moral lesson. I find that African tales use different degrees of humor to help these lessons be received more easily. As times are changing in Africa diaspora, the traditional culture of the elders telling stories to the youth is disappearing. I feel it is important to preserve and improve these stories and culture through this media of film and animation.

I look forward to creating a feature length African period or fantasy piece. The history of Africa is so rich and intricate yet very, very little is known of it, and film is such a powerful way to tell these stories.
