Learning about the environment is very important. There are many good books that will help you learn. To get started, ask your teacher or a librarian for some suggestions. You can also look at some good websites with information about the environment and climate change. Climate change may be a big problem, but there are many little things we can do to make a difference.

Driving a car or using electricity is not wrong. We just have to be smart about it. Some people use less energy by carpooling. For example,four people can ride together in one car instead of driving four cars to work. Whenever we use electricity, we put greenhouse gases into the air. By turning offlights, the television and the computer when they aren't needed, you can help a lot.

Don't buy products that use too much energy. Some products, like certain cars, are made specially to save energy. These don't pollute as much, either. Products like computers, TVs, and VCRs with the ENERGY STAR label(标签)R are made to save energy. Buying products with these labels will help protect the environment.

Buy recyclable products instead of (代替) non-recyclable ones. Recyclable products are usually made out of things that have already been used. It usually takes less energy to make recyclable products than to make new ones. So when you go shopping, look for the recycle mark on the package—three arrows that make a circle. The less energy we use, the better.

Many traditional woodcut prints （版画）are either black and white or simple in color, but reduction woodcuts （绝版木刻）can show rich colors. 

The reduction woodcut uses one piece of wood to make a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（colour）artwork. The artist cuts and prints different layers （层）in order on the same piece of wood. The reduction woodcuts became an intangible cultural heritage （非物质文化遗产）in Pu'er, Yunnan, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}2009. 

LengGuangmian, in his {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（40）, is a reduction woodcut artist. Leng started learning it in 2003. He said that making reduction woodcut prints is just like an adventure. "Every time we cut on the wood and then print, we never know {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it will be like in the end." 

Finishing such work is not easy. He said that before cutting, he needs to plan for {#blank#}5{#/blank#} whole print and choose colors for different layers. A big print usually takes months to finish. 

Leng hopes that both woodcutting skills and the life in Pu'er{#blank#}6{#/blank#}（show）through his creative artwork. "For my works, there are two themes: Tea Horse Road （茶马古道）, because Pu'er is one of the starting places of that road; and disappearing villages," Leng said. "Many old villages in Pu'er need {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（build）again. As a result, I want to make people remember their{#blank#}8{#/blank#}（beautiful）before they are gone." 

LengGuangmian is now getting more people {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（know）about the reduction woodcut. He and brings the art into schools in Pu'er. To make students understand the art better and learn it more quickly, he even thought of a new idea of cardboard printing. "By using a smaller cardboard and making it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（simple）with three to five colors, students can get the charm of the art," Leng said. 

Nowadays, the popularity of Chinese traditional works of art is increasing. At an art museum in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, the woodcut prints are taking center stage for the first time. 

According to a research, more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura's country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply(供应). It is a sad fact, especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.

When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day, she came up with an idea. She started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters(庇护所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. The project is called Feed & Find, and has already fed thousands of people in her city.

How does it work? Through an app, Feed & Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.

Pretty cool, right? It's not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura, hoping that she could help develop similar projects for their communities.

Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this

project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.
