Do you know"cosplay"? It is the activity of dressing up as a fictitious (虚构的) character from cartoons, books, films, video games or TV shows. Some people spend a lot of money buying clothes, but many more enjoy making clothes by themselves in order to show their love for those fictitious characters.

Cosplay needs a lot of work. Here are some steps(步骤) in how to prepare for a cosplay:

●Plan your cosplay. You should choose a character you like. It's also important to find pictures with almost every detail(细节) of the character.

•Make or buy your cosplay clothing. You'd better make a list of everything you need. Sometimes, you may need to change the size of the things like the shoes or the dresses you get.

●Pay attention to making up and haircut. You should find someone to make you up. You should also have the same haircut as the character you want to cosplay.

Have fun doing your cosplay. You needn't compare yourself with anyone else. You should feel proud of the work you do. Maybe you can also make some new friends there.

Building a country is never easy. It takes hard work from generation (代人) to generation. But how about destroying it? A new report from The Guardian said longtime of climate change can do that, The report said Tuvalu will be the first country to be completely lost due to climate change. 

Tuvalu is a Pacific island nation with nine islands and 12, 000 people. It has long been at risk from rising sea levels, Now, 40 percent of the area in its capital is underwater at high tide (潮水). By the end of the century, it is believed that all the islands will be underwater, reported Reuters, So many people in Tuvalu have often moved around the country and even to other countries. 

To help with the problem, the country plans to build its country in the metaverse. The digital (数字化的) country will recreate the same landscape and keep its cultural and historical records, No matter where they live in the real world, the people in this country will have their new identity (身份) and " live " in its online communities. The government hopes to manage and serve them in cyberspace (网络空间). 

This news made many people in Tuvalu excited. But Li Zuxi, director of the metaverse lab of Qingbo Intelligent Technology, said it may not be the best solution. 

Though the digital nation belongs to Tuvalu, it's still built on a metaverse platform (平台), " said Li, "Now, the metaverse is not mature, which may bring some problems. " He gave us an example. If people from other countries enter the space of the digital country but just show their names, how do people know if they do or do not, truly belong to that country?Li added that instead of trying our best to build digital nations, it's better to pay attention to saving the real world now. 

 This week, I asked my classmates about their vacations. Here are some of their answers.

 Linda went to Sydney, Australia. The weather was sunny and the people were friendly to her. She went there by plane and the air trip was relaxing. She went to Sydney Opera House. It was wonderful. She had a great vacation.

 Alice went to visit her aunt. At first the weather was rainy and wet. She had to stay at the house. She watched TV but the TV shows were boring. Later on, the weather got better. So she went shopping with her aunt. The shop assistants were all friendly and kind. She bought something nice for herself.

 Peter stayed at home. First he did his homework. It was a little difficult. Then he played computer games. They were interesting. He thought his vacation was OK.

True friendships are very important. They make us much happier. However, it's not always easy to be a good friend.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} 
    Be there when they need you. If your friend is in need, give him a hand. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Let your friends see they can count on you. If they're true friends, you'll be able to expect (指望) them, too. 

 {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  Don't do all the talking. Listen carefully to what your friend has to say. Let your friend know you care about what he or she thinks. 

Learn to forgive (原谅). You should be able to forgive your friends if they do something that hurts you. First, let them know how you feel. If your friends are sorry for what they did, you should forgive them.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Jennifer was born in Romania without legs. She was given up at birth by her natural parents. Later, Jennifer was taken to a loving American family, the Brickers, and raised in the small town of Hardinville, Illinois. 

Although she was born without legs, her family never let this keep her from realising her dreams. Her parents made one simple rule for her — never say"Ican't. " They helped her live an encouraging life. The Brickers raised her just like they raised their other three sons. She was taught to never consider her disability as a disadvantage. So, she grew up playing many sports, including volleyball, softball and basketball. 

But her true interest was gymnastics(体操). She liked Olympic gold medalist Dominique Moceanu most. She watched her on TV while practising tumbling(单跳). 

As she grew older, Jennifer began competing against other players in gymnastics competitions around Illinois. Not only did she compete, but she even went on to win a gold me dal in power tumbling. And she took part in the Junior Olympics. Jennifer and her family always believed she could do whatever she wanted. Her right attitude(态度), hard work and strong will made this real. 

If her story was not amazing enough already, when Jennifer was 16, she discovered the most unbelievable news of her life. She learned that her favourite gymnast, Dominique Moceanu, was actually her biological sister! Now, Jennifer tours the country and gives encouraging speeches.
