One of my father's favorite {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (say) as I was growing up was “Try it!”. I couldn't say I didn't like something, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it might be, until after I tried it. Over the years I've come to realize how much of my success I owe to my {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (accept) of those words as one of my values. My first job was just one I decided to try for a couple of years until I determined what I wanted to do as a career. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (actual) I believed I would work for a few years, get {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (marry), stay home and raise a family, so I didn't think the job I took mattered that much. I couldn't {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (be) more mistaken. I mastered the skills of that {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (begin) level position and I was given the opportunity to move up through the company into {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (differ) positions. I accepted each new opportunity with the thought, “Well, I'll try it; {#blank#}9{#/blank#} I don't like it I can always go back to my {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (early) position.” But I was with the same company for the past 28 years.

    My program is a course in automotive repair. We teach people from the age of 16 through adults. We're {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (locate)on a high school campus. It's vocational,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} means that we train people specific skills that they could use in a job.

    I like classes like this {#blank#}3{#/blank#}it's {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(much)of the real world than it is sitting there reading a textbook, not {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(know)what you are going to be using it for.

    Today's a work day, so {#blank#}6{#/blank#}I go back into the shop, I have all of my students {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(work)on a project. First, Jack is going to get the air tools out and jack up a car, he's going to take a tyre off that car, with the air impact. Every student that comes onto my program is an individual. All of them think that they're going to be able to fix their own car. They all have {#blank#}8{#/blank#}as a goal that they are going to get out of the program.{#blank#}9{#/blank#} then, as part of my introduction to the class I'll let them know some of the other things that they'll all get,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} include：consumer understanding of how the car works.

    What might life be like if you looked very different from others? Most of us are lucky to be born with “normal” faces.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, the movie Wonder shows us that there is no such thing as being normal and that beauty is more than skin-deep.

But as he enters middle school, his parents decide to send him to a private school. There, Auggie must deal with judgmental classmates and learn to accept {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(he) as he is.

    In the US, most kids {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (teach) that it is OK to be different. Most people in the US celebrate being unique.

    But some kids have difficulty {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(accept) uniqueness. It's easy to pick on someone who's different,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (especial) if you have your own problems to deal with. This is another {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (center) theme from the movie—even the kids {#blank#}8{#/blank#} pick on Auggie have their own personal struggles.

    As Auggie's classmates get to know him better, they come to find that he's a nice kid {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a great sense of humor. They start to change their attitude toward him. In real life, it may take longer to see such changes happen. But if we give people{#blank#}10{#/blank#}chance, their hearts and minds may change in the end.

    We all make mistakes more than once. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(hope), we learn from them finally. We all have wishes that we can't make {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(come) true. We all make a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (judge) of other people and then find out they are really nice people. And we don't know what difficulty they have gone through in life {#blank#}4{#/blank#}has made them who they are. We all get jealous(嫉妒的) of others even if we shouldn't. We should be secure enough in ourselves and our partners and we should be happy for our friends when they {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(success) in something.

    We are all humans and have human{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (feel). That doesn't make us bad people {#blank#}7{#/blank#}that's part of {#blank#}8{#/blank#}makes us human .We just have to remember: when we have bad thoughts we have to turn {#blank#}9{#/blank#}into positive ones.

    We all have to be{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(thank) for what we have. Be kind to yourself and others and you will be happy.

Chinese New Year, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} starts on the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar (阴历), is considered as China's most important holiday. It {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (know) as the Spring Festival.

The Spring Festival starts at the beginning {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the new moon. It often happens between January and February. It usually {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (last) about one month until the Lantern Festival (元宵节), which gives everyone plenty of time for celebration.

The firework is another big part of Chinese New Year. A {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (write) shared the following story on a website. An old man saved a town from a terrible monster (怪兽)by throwing many bamboo {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (stick) into the fire. The explosion caused by the bamboo frightened off the monster. As {#blank#}9{#/blank#} result, Chinese people set off fireworks (爆竹)during Chinese New Year celebrations {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (avoid) the evil spirits of the past.
