Last Sunday evening, my parents went shopping with my sister. But I studied alone at home because I would have an English test. Suddenly, I saw bright light in my neighbour（邻居）'s kitchen. I thought he was cooking so I went on studying. 

Soon, there was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbour's kitchen. So I shouted "Fire! Fire!" But no one heard or came out. 

I ran quickly into my house to call 119, and then I rang my neighbour's doorbell and knocked at the door, but still there was no answer. I got into the house through the window and found my neighbour sleeping in his bedroom. I woke him up and we rushed out of the house together immediately. 

We tried our best to pour（泼）water through the kitchen window, but the fire was too big. Luckily, the firemen came and put out the fire quickly. When my parents came back, they found I was dirty and tired. After my neighbour told them the whole story, they were happy and said I was a brave（勇敢的）boy.

Reading is a wonderful habit to develop your memory (记忆力). Start from small things to develop the habit by reading for just a few minutes a day. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Find time to read every day. It may be just 5 to 10 minutes, but open a book at least (至少) once a day (至少).{#blank#}2{#/blank#} If you travel a lot, read on the plane, bus or train. 

Read books that interest you. If you really like what you're reading, you won't want to put the book down and reading will be fun. 

 {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Keep a book with you all the time so you can read in your any free time. If the bus is running late or if you're standing in line or waiting to meet up with a friend, open your book and read. 

Make reading goals.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} You could also make a goal to read all the books from a certain book list. The reading goals will help remind (提醒) you to read every day. Getting a reading goal will make reading even more fun.
