Do you know about Sally? She's good-looking and well-spoken, but also is obedient(听话的). That's to say, she'll do anything that you ask her to do. Sally is a personal assistant robot. Bill Moir. a university teacher and computer engineer, spent more than a year finishing this robot. And now Sally can do many things, such as turning on the radio, and even playing and working on computers.

In other parts of the world, there are similar robots,but Bill's is to help disabled (残疾的) people around the home.

About one month ago, Bill said, "I'll make a special house. When you come in, Sally will be there on the big screen for you. You can ask her to read your e-mails, tell you the news and how the weather is. You can also askher to help you buy something you need.She'll be able to do many other things if you like."

Although Sally is a robot, it seems that she could do a better job than a human helper.

Bill's working on a new project (项目) now. He wants to improve Sally so that she can do more and better work for people.

Many people enjoy watching movies in a cinema. They think the cinema has a better atmosphere（气氛）to enjoy the movie. However, I think people are happier and freer when watching movies at home. 

Watching movies at home is more comfortable. To watch movies in a cinema, you have to buy a ticket before you go there for a better seat. However, there is no need for people at home to worry about the ticket. They can enjoy movies at any time they like and with the most comfortable seat. What's more, people watching movies at home wouldn't have to face any traffic problems. 

It is free to watch movies at home. In the cinema, we can't go outside and do something else because the movie won't wait for us. Sometimes we miss part of the movie. At home, we can pause（暂停）at any time and go back to watch the part. 

All in all, a cinema is a good place to watch movies, but it isn't the best place to enjoy the movies. I think watching movies at home is better. 

As we all know, environmental pollution is still serious nowadays. Our group wanted to know how many students knew about each kind of the pollution and we wanted to learn how often they sorted(分类) rubbish. So we did a survey among the students in our school. Here are the results of our questionnaire(问卷).

Lin Yu,from Shenzhen,often takesher 1l-year-old son to museums,such as Shenzhen Museum and Shenzhen Science Museum. "My son has more free time of his own. We often go to Shenzhen Museum. It offers a practical learning experience. It's like taking a trip back in time to see how people lived,worked,and built amazing things. "Lin said. 

More parents are hoping to broaden their children's horizons through museum visits. As a result, museums in Shenzhen have seen an increase in visits. Shenzhen Museum received 53,000 visits during the 2024 Chinese New Year holiday,and more than 70 percent are family visits. 

"For middle school students,the place is a great choice to learn about science. history and geography. With the new policy,I finally succeed in inviting my son to the museums. We enjoyed the exhibitions—Bronze Ware Exhibition(展览)last weekend. We are going to attend the exhibition—Pingcheng and Yungang Grottoes Art in the Northern Wei Dynasty next weekend. "said Luo,a museum lover herself,whose son is a Grade 7 student cause of the new policy,schools provide rich activities. This offers a good chance for museums to work together with education departments and schools to provide cool classes about culture and history. "Visiting museums can help develop children's interest in science,and museums aren't just about old things from the past. They're like magical doors that take you on exciting adventures of learning and fun with your family!"said Gao Yang,a teacher from Southern University of Science and Technology.

A marathon is a long running race of 42.195kilometres. The first Olympic Marathon was held     in Athens. Now, many cities host their own marathons every year. Some of the well-known marathons around the world are the New York City Marathon, the Boston Marathon and the Tokyo Marathon. Among them. the Boston Marathon is the oldest yearly Marathon in the world. As time goes by, the sport has become more than just a race.

 Themes(主 题 ) make marathons fun and meaning. Runners run for helping sick kids, memorizing important events, or just enjoying nature. A famous marathon in Gisborne, New Zealand, is known for being the first city in the world to welcome the sunlight every day. Runners can greet the sunrise as they run along the golden sandy beaches.

 Marathon routes(线路) let people know more about this old sport. Some routes are very challenging for runners. Runners of all skill levels can sweat(流汗) freely and push their limits(极限). Some routes are well planned for runners to explore the many sides of a city. For example, the route of the Great Wall Marathon takes the runners along the great wonder of the world. In fact, it's also a chance to get to know Beijing, its people and local culture.

A marathon is quite a journey for runners to enjoy the run, challenge themselves and experience     the culture. There is so much more behind the race for us to explore.
