As we all know, environmental pollution is still serious nowadays. Our group wanted to know how many students knew about each kind of the pollution and we wanted to learn how often they sorted(分类) rubbish. So we did a survey among the students in our school. As winter comes, many people move to the south of China for its warmer climate(气候). However, a growing number of 36.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} have been to Harbin which is famous as the Ice City.
It is said that Harbin's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} comes from a Manchu(满族的)word that means "a place for drying fishing nets". It is the capital of Heilongjiang Province and one of the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} cities in northeast China.
The city developed {#blank#}4{#/blank#} with the arrival of the Chinese Eastern Railway. The railway {#blank#}5{#/blank#} it to the outside world. especially Russia. This made preparations for Harbin's future development of its {#blank#}6{#/blank#} culture where East meets West.
The city is now famous for its Ice and Snow Festivals. Thousands of visitors from all corners of the world {#blank#}7{#/blank#} for different kinds of winter-themed activities and sports.
Although these festivals may be the most exciting part of a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to Harbin, the city still has much more to offer. It has not only the traditional European-style buildings but also its more {#blank#}9{#/blank#} buildings, such as the Harbin Grand Theater. The unusual food, including guobaorou. can all be {#blank#}10{#/blank#} along Zhongyang Street.
While winter may be the best time to visit Harbin, the city has a lot to offer all year round. It is a must-see place no matter what season it is.
