The journey to discover myself,care for myself and love myself has been a long one.But,it's been a journey that has finally saved my life.

I remember throwing up for the first time when I was 8 years old.Somehow I had developed the belief that being thin was the only way to be accepted and loved.This way of thinking intensified(加剧) as I got older and bulimia(神经性贪食)became more and more deeply rooted in my life.

When I was 15 years old my family said goodbye to everything we had ever known and boarded the plane for New Zealand.I felt alone and scared in a world that was completely different to anything I had ever known.Eating helped numb(麻木)my pain and throwing up helped keep me thin.

By the time I went to university I was throwing up over 15 times a day.I was so ashamed of what I had become.

Although my bulimia had completely turned my life upside down,I knew one thing for sure that I loved my family more than anything in the world.This belief eventually made me pick up the phone and book my first appointment with a therapist(治疗专家).

The first session I had with my therapist,Amanda,was amazing.I walked out of her office feeling like I had finally done something positive for myself Amanda made me realize that I wasn't alone in my suffering and there were thousands upon thousands of girls just like me.

I met regularly with Amanda for the best part of a year,over which time I learnt how to treat myself kindly,respect myself and love myself.I said goodbye to bulimia after over a decade of suffering.

Just turn to face the direction of self﹣discovery,self﹣love and self﹣acceptance and keep walking until you get there.It will be the journey of a lifetime.

Before you were my teacher, I thought that teaching was the last thing I wanted to do. Why would someone want to come in every day and attempt to instruct students, many of whom couldn't care less, or to get paid very little compared with the work he or she put in?

You may have thought that the only thing I was learning from you was the course, but that's not all l learned. From reference books to funny jokes, you made each class exciting. You always tried to make class charming so that we could be excited about learning. However, those days have gone by.

Whenever I was confused and needed extra help, you were the exact one to turn to. I would walk into your room for help and there would be several kids. You ran from one student to the next helping each one through their confusion. You could have gone back home after the bell rang. Instead, you chose to Stay and care about what your students did.

You didn't only care about my learning, but you also cared about other things I was involved in. At the beginning of the year, we wrote down our hobbies and interests. You remembered what we wrote, too. I had missed class for track meets (田径运动会)and when I came back the next day, you would ask me how it went. Many of the teachers never bothered to ask what I liked to do.

These things showed me the value of teaching. They showed me how much of an influence a teacher can have on a student. I want to be the one that influences students and pushes them toward success. I want students to leave my classroom thinking that their time was worthwhile (值得的). I want to be the inspiration for them that you were for me. Whenever it gets hard for me to continue on this path, I'll remember you and what you did for me.

Finding fruits and vegetables at your typical grocery store that have been grown without the extensive use of pesticides can be difficult. Fortunately, The Environmental Working Group(EWG) has done all of the work for you in finding healthy and pesticide-free produce.

EWG has created the 2018 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce, which helps shoppers to find uncontaminated produce. Many consumers do not realize that pesticide residues(残留) are very common on conventionally grown produce products, even after they have been washed or peeled. Because of this, EWG has created their series of guides to lead consumers to safer food choices.

In order to create these guides, EWG analyzed the USDA pesticides tests, which found a total of 230 different pesticides and pesticides breakdown products on thousands of produce samples. Analyzing this information, EWG observed the big differences of the amount of pesticides found from product to product.

The guide's two main components are two compiled lists highlighting the cleanest and dirtiest produce concerning pesticides. These two lists, Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen, show consumers how certain foods continue to carry trace amounts of pesticides with them all the way to the grocery store shelves, while others make it to your kitchen virtually pesticide-free.

Some of the highlights from their analyses included the following findings:

More than one-third of strawberry samples analyzed in 2016 contained 10 or more pesticide residues and breakdown products.

Spinach(菠菜) samples had, on average, almost twice as much pesticide residue by weight compared to any other crop.

No single fruit sample from the Clean Fifteen tested positive for more than four pesticides.

“With EWG's guide, consumers can fill their fridges and fruit bowls with plenty of healthy conventional and organic produce that isn't contaminated with multiple pesticide residue," said Sonya Lunder, a senior analyst in EWG.

Only 25 years ago, the National Academy of Sciences raised concerns about exposure to poisonous pesticides in our food, yet consumers still consume a mixture of pesticides every day in America.

With the Chinese language growing in popularity, the UK government plans to invest (投资)10 million pounds to help more kids learn Mandarin(普通话).Do you think it is necessary for the UK pupils to learn Mandarin? Some people share their opinions online.

Tsd(UK):The learning of any language can be valuable and rewarding, but it is not suitable for everyone. Chinese is a difficult language to learn and the UK has a poor reputation for teaching foreign languages. Why should they learn Chinese when most people in the world speak English?

Mark(US):I studied French for 2 years in high school and German for 4 years in college. I studied Mandarin informally for about 4 months before moving to China. Now I speak Mandarin every day as my wife doesn't speak English. But it is far from being fluent, learning additional languages is a great thing, which offers a different perspective on the world around us. Nowadays, it's almost necessary to be able to speak more than just your native tongue.

George(UK):No, unless they're taught from a very early stage of childhood. Mandarin is so difficult. If China really is going to dominate the world, it'll have to do so by speaking the world's dominant language—English.

Sam(UK):I don't think Chinese will become as widely spoken throughout the world as English. It is too difficult to learn as a second language. To learn Chinese you completely have to devote yourself to learning how to write and read it. If you have to learn it besides other subjects you can't be good at it. But Chinese will become more popular, and that is a good thing.
