Tyler was a troublesome student. He sat in the back row. Every time I called him to answer questions, he'd reply with a flip（轻率的）answer. If he got it wrong, he would get very angry.
    Usually kids could sit quietly in class. However, Tyler was just loud. One day, Tyler was talking while I was teaching. I said to him, “Tyler, why not join in our discussion instead of having one of your own?” He got up from his chair, pushed it over, and shouted something I can't remember. I sent him to the office and he received a week's out-of-school punishment.
    The week was a wonderful time for me, but when it came to an end, I began to feel worried. So I came up with a plan. On the day of his return, I told him I wanted to start over with him. If he felt like he was going to lose control in class, he could step outside the door for a moment.
    From then on, Tyler was a changed student in my classroom. In fact he was a smart child and he even stopped a fight between two students one day. And he never used the privilege（特权）to leave the class for a moment. I believe that just letting him decide for himself made all the difference.
    When the year was over, he wrote me a thank-you note about how good the year had been for him. I still have it today and find it very moving to reread when I get stressed about teaching.

     Tim is a 16-year-old boy who studies in a high school .His parents tell him to study hard and they do everything for him. They wake him up at 6:00 a.m. and after breakfast his father takes him to school by car. As soon as the young man comes home from school, the supper is ready. Of course, he never does chores(杂物). Once, Tim's father would go to London on business for a year. Before leaving, he told his wife to look after their son well. The woman had to get up earlier and did all what her husband did before. The woman had a sigh(叹息）,gave him a shoe pattern(鞋样)and told him to buy shoes himself. With a policeman's help, he found a shop. The shopkeeper brought some shoes and asked him to choose. When he was trying on pair, suddenly he remembered something and took them off. The man was surprised and asked, “What's the matter?”

“I'm sorry. I've left my shoe pattern at home.”

    “In this life，what did you miss？”

    The wife asked the husband when she was 25．Despondently （沮丧地），the husband replied，“I missed a new job chance．”

    When she was 35，the husband angrily told her that he had just missed the bus．

    At the age of 45，the husband sadly said，“I missed the chance seeing my close relative before his last breath．”

    At 55，the husband said disappointedly，“I missed a good chance to retire （退休）．”

    At 65，title husband hurriedly replied，“I missed visiting my dentist．”

    At 75，the wife did not ask the husband any more，she was very sick．Remembering the question the wife used to ask him，this time the husband asked the wife the same question．The wife，with a smile and peaceful look，replied，“In this life，I did not miss having you!”

    The husband was full of tears．He always thought that they could be together forever．He was always busy with work and other things．He had never thought of his wife．The husband gave a big hug to the wife and said，“Over 50years，how I had allowed myself to miss your deep love for me．”

    Life does not last forever，so always live in the now．Don't neglect （忽视）the loved ones who care for you．Express your gratitude （感激）to your loved ones in words．Show your love with actions．Treat every day as the last day of life．In this way，when you are gone，your loved ones would have nothing to feel sorry about．
