Steve Jobs was famous for starting Apple Computers. In a speech to graduating students at Stanford University, Jobs told students about some of life-changing experiences. Jobs believed these experiences helped him achieve success.

Job's biological mother was a college student. As a young mother, she felt unable to bring Jobs up so she put him up for adoption. Job's adopted parents were simple working-class people. When Jobs was 17, his parents used their saving to send him to college.

After six months of college, Jobs decided it was not for him. Around that time, he had read a quotation that went something like,“If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right.”The quotation made him think about his life and his future. He started to question if he should stay in college. Was he doing what he really wanted to do? Eventually, he decided he had to change something; he decided to drop out of college.

Jobs was lucky because he knew what he loved to do. He started Apple Computers in his parents' garage with a friend when he was 20. In just ten years, Apple grew into a $2 billion company. However in 1985, Jobs was fired from the company.

Jobs was shocked. He lost everything at once. He quickly realized that he still loved what he did, and over the next five years, he started two highly successful companies. next and Pixar. Jobs also met his future wife, Laurence. Jobs was happily married with a family, working for Apple again and living every day as if it were his last.

    Collect your family photos. Choose some special ones with your family and make a photo wall. It's a great chance to listen to family stories behind those photos. You can also DIY a photo album and keep the photos safe for a long time.

    Do you want to be an inventor? Be creative about finding new uses for old objects. Try to invent something with your imagination. For example, you can make a garbage can or a storage box with cardboard. You can also find a problem at your home and create something to fix it.

    If your math teacher assigns(分派) five problems you should do six. If your Chinese teacher assigns eight pages of reading, you should read nine. The more you practice, the more you learn.

    Studying is a matter of personal preference(偏爱), so choose the way you are most comfortable with. Some people like working at night when the house is quiet, while others like doing their work early in the morning. Still others like studying as soon as they arrive home from school while the work is fresh in their minds. No matter which way you use, try to do your best.

    Studying is your business and business comes before entertainment(娱乐). When you are studying, phone calls should go unanswered, TV shows unwatched, snacks uneaten. Studying is the only thing in your mind. Nothing can pull you away from what you are studying.

    Studying is like eating. You chew(咀嚼) it one bite at a time. You can plan what to do today, but don't do too much. When you can't finish the work you planned to do, you may lose confidence. On the other hand, you will not study well without a good plan. It all depends on how you arrange your time.

    The students who hand in a clearly written paper is already half way to an A. Neat(工整的) papers are likely to get higher marks than sloppy(被泼水弄湿的) ones. When you write neatly and do your work carefully, the thoughts in your mind are clear. You are able to make fewer mistakes.

    Tom has two good friends. They are Jack and Mark. They have different hobbies. Tom likes football. He often plays football on weekends. He thinks playing football can make him strong and healthy. He is in the school football team.
