Is there anything worse than that? You bravely raise your hand to answer a question, but your teacher just point out that you're wrong. What a shame! What could the teacher make you suffer (忍受) this?

    Relax. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Your teacher isn't calling you out to humiliate (使丢脸) you, but rather out of concern for you and your education.

    Having all your classmates come to know your weak points can be pretty hard, so how can you get past the shame and recognize class participation as a learning opportunity?

    Get out of your comfort zone. Terrill Schumaker, a teacher, explains that “the more you speak out, the more you learn how to grow and build confidence. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}”

Realize it's not a big deal. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. People aren't going to care all that much. “If I'm wrong or make a stupid point, then people laugh at me, but life moves on” says Grade 12 Kristen Wesenberg. Besides, everybody makes mistakes, and you can't be perfect all the time.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Of course it takes courage (勇气), but as Wesenberg says, ―What's the point of living in fear?‖ You won't learn anything if you are not brave enough.

    Use the experience as a learning tool. Wesenberg advises asking teachers why you're wrong so they can explain and you can learn.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. If you're wrong now, at least you won't be wrong in your next test!

    Taiwan lies in the southeast of China. It's the largest island in China. It has an area of about 36, 000 square kilometres and it has a population of over 20, 000, 000.It is rich in natural resources. Bananas, rice, tea and so on are famous at home and abroad. Clothes, food and so on are also well known all over the world. Its beautiful scenery, such as Sun­Moon Lake and Mount Ali, and its wonderful climate make more and more travelers come to Taiwan.

    Taiwan has been part of China since ancient times. Most people of the island came from Fujian and Guangdong. All the people on both sides of the strait (海峡) have a strong wish to unite our motherland.

    In a cold winter, a couple had to move out from the luxury (豪华的) house because of bankruptcy（破产）. The husband worked day and night to support the family but with no care of his wife. So she thought, "He doesn't love me any more. He just cares about his business ...... not me".

    One day, she began to take a bath, but he stopped her at the door, "Let me take it first, okay?"

    "Why not let me shower first," she asked.

    "I was tired, sweetie! You take it later, okay?" She was totally discouraged. (泄气的)

    On a tiring day, she found nothing to do and turned on his computer, a few words blurred(使……模糊)her eyes. It was his diary:

    Today, I was quite sad. She asked me why I was always taking the bath first, and I said to her that I was tired out. She was unhappy, in her mind, to think I treated her not as well as usual. But what can I do? I was not as rich as before! We moved to the small apartment, and there was only a shower in the bathroom. It was so cold to take a shower in such a freezing winter. But I found that if one person took the shower first, the room could get warmer, so every time I rushed to the bathroom first. I was thinking that, when she took the shower, the room would get warmer, at least 1℃, 2℃ or 3℃. Now I can't give her comfortable life, bring her the luxury restaurant, buy expensive dresses for her, but at least, I can give her 1℃ love.

    After reading the diary, the wife was deeply moved.

Finally, Spring Festival is not only a time for relaxation, but also a part of cultural traditions.

    Jean is a bright young woman who comes from a rich and famous family. She goes to a good university and has everything that money can buy. Well, almost everything. The problem is that the people in Jean's family are so busy that they can hardly find time to be with her. In fact, Jean is quite lonely.

As time went by, they became good friends and often sent cards and small things to each other.

    When Jean's father told her that he was going on a business trip to San Francisco, she asked him to let her go with him, so that she could give David a surprise for his birthday. She would take him the latest DVD of their favourite rock singer. But when Jean knocked on David's door in San Francisco, she found that the special friend she had written to was a twelve-year-old boy named Jim.
