BLACK FRIDAY

You probably know about Singles Day (November 11) in China. On this day, people usually stay up very late at night to shop online in order to{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a lot of money. Well, the US has something similar called Black Friday.

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Last year it fell{#blank#}2{#/blank#}November 29. It's the start of the holiday shopping season and most people don't have to go to work that day. So they start to think about what gifts they want to{#blank#}3{#/blank#}for Christmas.

While Singles Day is usually for online{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, a lot of shopping on Black Friday is done at actual stores. Shoppers look for things especially on electronic products,{#blank#}5{#/blank#}as televisions, computers and video game systems. These things usually have{#blank#}6{#/blank#}prices, but on this day, a few of them are sold at the very low sale prices. So people often fight over these things.

Some people will{#blank#}7{#/blank#}in line for hours before midnight when stores finally open. People camp out in the cold and sometimes get hurt{#blank#}8{#/blank#}the doors are opened and people rush in.

But lately a few stores will start sales even{#blank#}9{#/blank#}on Thanksgiving Day. They do this to hopefully get{#blank#}10{#/blank#}shoppers and stay ahead of the competition.

Friends are important to everyone. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, some people may have trouble in keeping their friendships. Here are some ways to make your friendship {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（deep）and stronger than before.

★Be yourself. A lot of teens try {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（keep）the friendship once they become friends with some people. Your identity (身份) is always changing, but some of your personality will stay {#blank#}4{#/blank#} same. Find out what those things are, think hard about who you want to be, and then show your love {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（true）to the people around you.

★Avoid gossip (闲话). Friends shouldn't speak ill (说坏话) of other friends. If you've heard something bad about your friends, you should find a right way of {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（ask）them about it by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（you）. If you're not sure how to talk to them about it, ask a trusted friend for advice.

★Protect your friends. Very often, somebody doubts (怀疑) one of your friends. It's important to find out both {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（side）of the story, but it's also a good chance to show your friend that you trust him by telling him.

★Return the care. A good friend {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（lend）you a shoulder to cry on, if you need. A good friend will cheer you up when you're in trouble and listen patiently when you share a problem {#blank#}10{#/blank#} him or her. So, be sure you are as helpful as your friend because he will take notice and feel good.

Silent love

Along a mountain road, a handsome young man walks fast.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} older man with a strict face follows him. This is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} my favourite film, Postmen in the Mountains. It's a touching story about the love {#blank#}3{#/blank#} father and son. 

For years, the father {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(serve) as the postman for this area. He was often absent {#blank#}5{#/blank#} home and the son seldom saw him. But now the son {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(take) over his father's position. The father goes with him {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his first day of work. Along the way, they start to see into each {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(other) hearts. 

For the first time, the son{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(carry) his father across a cold river. It brings back the father's memory of {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(carry) the son on his back.{#blank#}11{#/blank#}(tear) quietly run down his face. 

This film shows a {#blank#}12{#/blank#}(tradition) Chinese father. He is happy about {#blank#}13{#/blank#}(he) son's growth. {#blank#}14{#/blank#} he just hides his care in his heart. He doesn't give hugs or {#blank#}15{#/blank#}(kiss) to his son. His love may be silent. But like a mountain, it is always there. 

Do you like keeping pets? There are many kinds of pets for people to keep. If you keep dogs, or cats as yours pets, you must know how to look after 1 .

An adult dog need two meals a day. And it can 2 meat, fish, rice and so on. Dogs like bones,3 don't give them chicken bones. Remember 4 them much clean water. A dog should have 5 clean, dry place for sleeping. Washing it once a week is good 6 its health. If it is 7 ill, take it to see a vet (兽医). And walk your dog often if you have time. A healthy dog can make you happier.

Cats have two meals a day with some meat or 8 . They need to drink a little milk every day. Sometimes give them vegetables to eat. Don't forget that they need clean water to drink, too. Cats are usually 9 than dogs, and you don't need to walk them.

Take good care of your pets. They will be your good friends if you can spend time 10 with them. Maybe they can give you some help when you need them.
