Until recently daydreaming was viewed as a waste of time or it {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (consider) an unhealthy escape from real life and its duties．But now some people are taking a fresh look at daydreaming．Some think it may be a very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (health) thing to do．Some researchers are finding that daydreaming may be important to mental health．Daydreaming, they tell us, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a good means  of relaxation．But its benefits go{#blank#}4{#/blank#} this．A number of psychologists have conducted experiments and have reached some{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (surprise) conclusion．

    Dr．Joan T．Freyberg has concluded that daydreaming contributes growth．It also improves{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (concentrate),attention span, and the ability to get along with others．Industrialist Henry J．Kaiser believed that much of his success was due{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the positive use of daydreaming．Florence Nightingale dreamed of becoming a nurse．The young Thomas Edison pictured{#blank#}8{#/blank#} as an inventor．

    For these notable achievers, it appears that their daydreams came  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}．Dr Harry Emerson Fosdick offered this advice: “Hold a picture of yourself…in your mind's eye, and you will be drawn toward it．Picture yourself {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (vivid) as defeated and that alone will make victory impossible．

    I was always told that the three Ps, patience, positive thinking and perseverance（毅力），were a sure path {#blank#}1{#/blank#} success. But this advice does not always work as planned. My high school math exam is one example. The exam, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} was originally to be held in our classroom, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (change) to the library at the last minute. This, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ， didn't bother me because math had always been my strongest subject. I patiently walked to the library, took my seat and did some deep breathing to help relax {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. But my mood quickly changed when I saw {#blank#}6{#/blank#} first question. I had no idea how to do it. I tried to stay positive and persevered {#blank#}7{#/blank#}I finally found the solution. With the problem {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(solve), I felt proud of my achievement. {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(fortunate), I then noticed that I had just 10 minutes left {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (complete) the rest!

    Starting this September, freshmen at Tsinghua University will have to take swimming courses. They won't receive their degrees until they pass the test{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(success). Exceptions will be allowed for students with certain physical or mental conditions, if{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(prove) by medical staff.

    Actually, viewing the ability{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(swim) as a must for students is not something new to this university. It was a{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(require) in the early 20^th century. Later it{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(drop) due to a rising number of students and a lack of facilities（设施）.

    As for {#blank#}6{#/blank#}new rule, opinions vary greatly. Some students welcome it, saying it's a necessary skill {#blank#}7{#/blank#}can save lives, while others argue that it's not reasonable to link degrees {#blank#}8{#/blank#}swimming ability.

    In response to the negative reviews, Liu Bo, head of the Division of Sports Science, gave the following explanation. {#blank#}9{#/blank#}a water sport, swimming does less harm to joints（关节）and muscles and is helpful in improving students' endurance.{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(consequence) it's beneficial to students in the long run.

    Yuan Longping was born in 1930 and graduated from Southwest Agricultural College in 1953, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} hunger was a big problem for many people in the countryside. Since then, finding ways to grow more rice {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) his life goal. And he searched for a way {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (increase) rice harvests without expanding the area of the fields. Now, he {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (consider) as a great man who devotes his life to {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (find) a way to increase the rice output.

    As one of the most famous scientists, he grows what is called super hybrid rice which has {#blank#}6{#/blank#} high output.     Nishit Sharma takes a heavy bag everywhere he goes. Whether he is traveling around the Kerala coastline or hiking in the mountains, he always carries a laptop and four or five cameras with him. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} They have helped him turn his adventures into amazing videos, inspiring people everywhere to get out and explore all that India has to offer.

In only two years, Sharma has produced nearly 100 videos for his web page on YouTube. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}From the thick forests in Meghalaya( a state in northeastern India), to the purple mountains in Tamil Nadu(a state in southeastern India), where he recorded the rare blossoming of the Kurinji flowers,—a phenomenon that happens once every 12 years—Sharma has shown a side if India that many people may never have known existed. Not even himself.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}He vividly remembers riding through the south of India on his motorcycle, exploring tree-lined streets in Pondicherry's French district, and being struck by the beauty of the peaceful hill station Munnar.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}However, Sharma knows there is no end to his exploration in India. He is so enthusiastic about sharing the lesser-seen side of his homeland, in new and better ways, that he has been known to open his laptop and work even on mountaintops. "{#blank#}5{#/blank#}And I've never stopped," he says. "The driving force for me is to keep learning."
