Dough figurine(捏面人), also known as dough modelling, is a kind of Chinese folk art. It is {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(simple) made but of high artistic value. It {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(record) as early as the Han Dynasty. Dough craftsman draws materials based on the required. After a repetition of rubbing, twisting and lifting {#blank#}3{#/blank#}hand, and poking, cutting, and carving by bamboo knife, the craftsman {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(shape) the body and the face of the figurine gradually. Dressed up with hair accessories and clothes, all of a sudden, a vivid artistic figurine comes to life.

    One day, Nick invited his friends to supper. He was cooking some delicious food in the kitchen .Suddenly, he {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（find）that he had run out of salt. So Nick called to his son," Go to the Village and buy some salt, but pay a fair price for it: neither too much {#blank#}2{#/blank#} too little."

    His son looked surprised. "I can understand why I shouldn't pay too much, Father, but if I can pay less,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} not save a bit of money?"

    "That would be a very {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（reason）thing to do in a big city, but it could destroy a small village like ours," Nick said.

    The day before he heads to a war, an undefeated {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (command) named Qi has a dream in which he loses a battle and dies. When he wakes up, Qi gets ready to go and fight. While gaining successive victories, Qi decides to celebrate, although there is a final battle {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (wait) for him. When he gets {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (drink) and falls asleep in his tent, Qi's army {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (attack) by the enemy and he gets killed just as his dream predicted. This is the story that has inspired the latest Kunqu Opera production.

    As one of the oldest of the traditional Chinese opera {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (form), Kunqu Opera, which is about 600 years old, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (combine) singing, dancing and lyrical recitation. Performed in the Suzhou dialect (方言).UNESCO listed Kunqu Opera as an intangible heritage(非物质文化遗产)of humanity in 2001.

    Earlier this year, a plan of combining Kunqu Opera and traditional Chinese idioms was developed, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} would allow young Chinese directors and Kunqu Opera performers {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (work) together. The young artists are working on developing original plays based on traditional Chinese idioms to keep {#blank#}9{#/blank#} tradition alive while making it popular again{#blank#}10{#/blank#} new ideas.

    The 9th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Double Ninth Festival. It usually {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (fall) in October. In a mysterious book Yi Jing in ancient time, number {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （think）to be "Yang", {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（mean）positive. Because the 9th day of the 9th lunar month is pronounced as "Jiu Jiu" in Chinese, which means "forever", the Chinese ancestors considered it a lucky day worth celebration. That's why ancient Chinese began to celebrate this festival.
