阅读下列短文,从下面每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

In the 1950s, car culture spread across the US. With the rise of the country's economy, nearly every family could afford a car. This led people to create new businesses that depended on carsgas stations, auto shops, and some drive in res

These restaurants didn't have an indoor seating. You would drive your car to an outdoor "booth"—a parking spot with a menu displayed(展示) next to it. A waitress would come over (usually on roller skates) and take your order. She would then bring you your food and you would eat it in your car.

Eating in your car is seen as something to be done only when you're in a hurry these days. But back then, it was a new experience. Sitting in your brand-new vehicle, drinking delicious milkshakes and eating burgers became a trend(趋势). Like all trends, it died out eventually-most driveins have been replaced by drive-thrus (汽车餐厅).

You already know two of the biggest drive-thru restaurant chains—McDonald's and KFC. They became popular as the pace of modern life increased in the 1970s and 1980s. They're not known for the experience that driveins once offered. They offer pure speed and convenience, especially for parents and other busy people.

I myself remember eating McDonald's for lunch in the back seat of my mom's car as we ran errands(办事)on the weekend. Though the convenience of drive-thrus is nice, I do wish I could have experienced the drive-in restaurants in the past.

A、They were popular at the beginning of the 20th century. B、They were usually built far away from large gas stations. C、They encouraged people to start new businesses. D、They appeared when cars became common.
(2)、What makes drive-in restaurants special?
A、You can choose to eat indoors. B、You can take your own order. C、You can eat in your car. D、They don't have menus.
(3)、According to Paragraph 4, why are dirve-thrus popular?
A、Because they serve food very fast. B、Because they offer indoor seating. C、Because they serve healthier foods. D、Because they offer a special experience.
(4)、What do we know about the author?
A、He used to drive his mother's car to drive-ins. B、He doesn't like the service in drive-thrus. C、He has never eaten at a drive-in restaurant. D、He worked in a drive-thru restaurant.
(5)、In which part of a newspaper can you find the article?

Another Disney princess movie hit theatres on 5th March 2021. But this time the princess doesn't wait for the prince to save her — she is ready to save the world herself. Raya and the Last Dragon, the film shows Southeast Asian culture and Disney's first Southeast Asian heroine (女主角).

The story takes place in a world called Kumandra. Five hundred years ago, the world's dragons died to save humans. But the world breaks up into five states and they fight against each other. Raya, the princess of one of the states, needs to find the last dragon to save the world. On her journey, Raya invites other people to join her and learns to trust others and be more responsible.

Once upon a time, being a Disney princess meant being a damsel in distress(落难女子) in a European fairy tale, but this movie is different, according to the BBC. Raya has no boyfriend, but is a great fighter who is very brave and independent, according to the movie's writer Adele Lim.

Besides Raya, most of the main characters in the movie, including the dragon Sisu, are female. They stand out and depend on(依靠) no one else instead of acting as supporting roles for males. Namaari, once a friend to Raya, is now a dangerous enemy. She is a strong, brave and loyal fighter, just like Raya.

The movie shows "a complicated dynamic(复杂互动) that's still rare in the Disney universe, particularly between women," the Los Angeles Times said.

On Wednesday, August 7, China got its first-ever gold medal in artistic swimming at the Paris Olympic Games.

Among the impressive performers were twin sisters, Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi. Born in 1997 and grew up in Shenzhen, the sisters took an interest in artistic swimming when they came to Shenzhen sports team in 2005, asking to learn artistic swimming. The twins almost didn't make it to the team because of their parents* heights.

There is an unwritten rule in artistic swimming. If a sportswoman is less than 1,68 meters tall, she is unlikely to become a professional. The twins' father is less than 1.7 meters tall, while their mother is a little taller than 1,6 metres, which means the daughters are unlikely to be tall enough.

However, the twins' wrong will and strengths impressed Hu, coach (教练)of Shenzhen team. She recalled that twins, who studied at Nanshan Foreign Languages School, went for training after school every day. At 20 years old, the twins grew to be 1.72 meters tall. They were among the tallest when joining the national artistic swimming team in 2017,

With good physical quality and willingness to bear hardships, through years of hard training, they became key players and got a lot of medals. In 2010, the twins won the gold medal at the provincial games. They also won a gold and a bronze medal at the national games in 2013 and 2O17.Then, they won four gold medals at the 2022 World Championships in Hungary and a gold in the duet event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, winning the right for the Paris Olympics.
