They paid no mind{#blank#}2{#/blank#} the test they had scheduled for the next day and didn't study.In the morning,they hatched a plan to get out of{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (take) their test.They covered{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (they) with grease（润滑油）and dirt and went to the Dean's office{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (nervous).Once there, they said they{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (be) to a wedding the previous night and on the way back they got{#blank#}7{#/blank#} flat tire and had to push the car back to campus.

    {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the test day arrived, they went to the Dean.The Dean put them ail in separate{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (room) for the test.They were fine with this since they had all studied hard.Then they saw the test.It had 2 questions.

    When I left for the United States to study, I had butterflies in my stomach. I was nervous because I was going to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}new place with new people and new customs. I couldn't even understand{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(they) language. Everything was{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(difference) from my own country. There was nobody {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I could talk to. I just had my husband, who was a new person for me, too.

    It was a sad moment {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I had to say goodbye to my family and friends. I didn't want {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(leave) my hometown because I grew up there and had wonderful{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (memory) of the place.

    So, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(think) about all these changes made me nervous and I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(worry) about my new life. But studying abroad was a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(decide) that I made myself. I had to continue and accept the challenge. I looked forward to visiting my family in the summer vacation.

    When Sandra was a child, her family was very poor, but she wanted {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (bad) to believe that her poverty was just a temporary situation, so she looked toward stories {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (escape). Her favorite book {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (check) out of the library over and over again was called The little house. Throughout Sandra's life, she had to move between cities, never {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (allow) her much time to get settled in one place. Her {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (separate) from family drove her to burying herself in books. Though reading a lot, according to Sandra, she didn't really start writing {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she attended her first creative writing class in college. She then realized that she needed to write what she knew, and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} purpose she adopted a writing style opposite to that of her classmates. Admission to Loyola University {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she earned a BA in English was a turning point for her. Sandra's writing {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (shape) by her experiences since then. She doesn't just make up {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (character), but writes about real people that she has encountered.
