I don't very often have a full day off work. Today I did. I had a leisurely morning, going to the gym, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (walk) the dog, feeding my friend's cat, and thought I would hurry into the office at Job number 2, to fill in my time sheet so I would {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (pay) for the hours I have worked. I was thinking that I had worked less hours because the lady I share job with was working instead {#blank#}3{#/blank#} me. I prayed then, that somehow we would have {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (much) money coming in this month and imagined money coming in to my bank account.

    I arrived at the office to see the main secretary looking very pale. She asked what my afternoon {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (plan) were, when I said I had the afternoon free she asked me {#blank#}6{#/blank#} I could work for her, as she had really hurt her back. I was really looking forward to a day off, but she looked in such pain that I said yes straight away. She did a quick handover of what {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (be) urgent and needed to be done.

    I raced home and got {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (change) into work appropriate clothes and took over. Our boss phoned and thanked me for stepping in so that everything went {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (smooth). The unwell person went home, and I got four hours extra pay. It's amazing how {#blank#}10{#/blank#} universe works.

    I will never forget that at the age of nine I was asked to deliver a speech entitled A challenge in My Life before the whole class!

    You can imagine how{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(terrible)shy I was the moment I thought of that—with so many eyes{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(fix) upon me. I could do nothing but{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(prepare) for it, though. First, I was to draft the speech, which was just a piece of cake for me, a good writer. But the hardest part{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(lie)in my oral presentation from my memory, for to read from the paper was not allowed. The real moment began {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I stood on the platform with my legs trembling and my mind blank. But my {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (listen) were waiting patiently without any signs of rushing me. Gradually I found myself back, giving out my speech tongue-tiedly. After {#blank#}7{#/blank#} seemed to be a hundred years, I found my audience applauding…I made it! From then on, my fear of talking before {#blank#}8{#/blank#} big audience disappeared. Actually with my confidence building up, I now turn out to be a great speaker. Looking back, I know the greatest difficulty on our way {#blank#}9{#/blank#} success is our fear. Overcome it, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} you will be able to achieve your goals.

    One morning, I was waiting at the bus stop, worried about {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) late for school.

    There were many people waiting at the bus stop, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} some of them looked very anxious and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(disappoint), when the bus finally came, we all hurried on board. I got a place next {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the window, so I had a good view of the sidewalk. A boy on a bike {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (catch) my attention. He was riding beside the bus and waving his arms. I heard a passenger behind me shouting to the driver, but he refused {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(stop) until we reached the next stop. Still, the boy kept {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(ride). He was carrying something over his shoulder and shouting. Finally, when we came to the next stop, the boy ran up the door of the bus. I heard an excited conversation. Then the driver stood up and asked,"{#blank#}8{#/blank#} anyone lose a suitcase at the last stop?" A woman on the bus shouted, "Oh, dear! It's {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (I)". She pushed her way to the driver and took the suitcase thankfully. Five others on the bus began talking about what the boy had done and the crowd of strangers {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(sudden) became friendly to one another.
