Now paper waste is a big problem in schools. Many students throw away paper before they make full use of it.

Most people choose to spend their weekends on the beach. But they often leave the rubbish on the beach.

Each year there are an increasing number of cars on the road. As a result, the air pollution caused by cars is becoming more and more serious.

The problem of wasting electricity is common. People leave lights, the TV and other electrical products on even when they don't use them.

Most people waste water badly. They usually have a longtime shower and leave the water running when they wash things.

A.To stop the world from being polluted by cars, we have to make some changes. For example, we can go out by bus or by underground.

B. You can call on some students to clean the parks in your city. It's also a good idea to put up some "No Littering" signs in the parks.

C. Always keep in mind that electricity should be cut off before you leave. You'll not only save money but also save energy by doing so.

D. Here are two pieces of advice on how to save water in our daily life. Don't leave the tap(水龙头) on when washing or brushing. Take a short shower instead of a long one.

E. The rubbish on the beach can be swept into the sea. And all kinds of rubbish will put animals in the sea in danger. Always collect rubbish on the beach and never throw rubbish into the sea.

F. Saving paper is a good way to save trees and protect the earth. Students should use both sides of paper. They should also form the habit of sorting(整理) the rubbish so that the waste paper can be recycled.

G. Saving forests also helps a lot. Forests are useful. Please stop cutting them down and plant more trees and plants every year. Make our world a green one to live in.

Reading books is a good hobby for all kinds of reasons.

First, reading books is fun. You can always keep yourself amused if you like reading, especially when the weather is bad. It is a relaxing hobby, too. You can really become lost in a book.

Next, you can read a book almost anywhere: in a car, in a waiting-room, on a plane, in bed—even in the bath. All you need is a book! Reading is a convenient hobby as it is easy to stop and then start again.

Another good reason for reading books is that it is useful. If you read as a hobby, you will get better and better at it. This means that you will read faster and will become better at understanding what you read. As your reading improves, you will probably find your schoolwork become much easier. Many school subjects depend on good reading and, as you read, you learn more and more.

Some people say that reading is out of date. This is not true. You have to be able to read to use a computer and, the better you read, the better your computer skills will be. Reading is hardly out of date!

What other hobby could be more useful, or more enjoyable!

On that day mothers usually receive flowers or cards. On the cards, children will write "Thanks, Mom", "To the best mother in the world", "Best wishes for Mother's Day" and so on. We should make mothers happy on that day.

Where does the idea for the holiday come from? We should thank Miss Anna M. Jarvis. She brought up the idea of having such a day. She lived in West Virginia. Her mother died on May 9th, 1905.She had a deep love for her mother. She wrote letters to some important persons. In her letters she asked them to decide a day for all mothers. Then Mother's Day was made on the second Sunday in May by the USA in 1913.

In China, children give presents to their mothers on Mother's Day, or the whole family go out and try to do something nice for their mothers. Mothers always think of others more than themselves.
