When I was in Grade 6, I knew a girl. She 1 to point out my shortcomings and always said I was very thin, I wasn't a good student, and so on. I tried not to care what she said. 2 , I became very 3 in the end. I cried and ran to Daddy.

    Daddy asked, “Are the things she says true or not? Lisa, didn't you ever 4 what you're really like? Well, you now have that girl's 5 . Go and make a 6 of everything she said and 7 the points that are true. Pay no attention to the other things she said.”

    To my 8 , I discovered that about half the things were true. Some of them I couldn't 9 (like being very thin), 10 a good number I could and suddenly I11to change. For the first time I got a clear 12 of myself.

    I brought the list back to Daddy. He 13 to take it. “That's just for you,” he said. “You know better than anyone else the 14  about yourself. But you have to learn to 15 . Don't just close your ears in anger, feeling 16 . When something said about you is true, you'll find it will be 17 to you. Our world is full of people who think they know your duty.     In my life, this is the best 20 that Daddy has given me.

    One day while I was on the road, 1 a corner with flowers and a flag where somebody special got  2 .

    The next day when I passed this accident site again, I simply had to stop an  3 a prayer and since I had some flowers in my car, I put them down next to all the other flower 4 . 5 I went back in my car I asked myself: “Why am I stopping here? I do not even know this person?”

That night I had a very 6 dream. All of a sudden this young handsome man 7 to me and said: “Hello! I am Rocky—please tell my mom that I am OK and that I 8 her” and then he disappeared.

    When I woke up, I could not get this young man and his  9 out of my mind. I do not know Rocky and neither do I know his dear mom—so how in the world may I  10 his message to his mother? I asked God to help me.

    About two weeks later I went to  11 up my car at a nearby gas station. When I paid for my gasoline, I  12 the lady's necklace which was 13 like a star. When she took my money, she said that the  14 of her son are in there.

    I will never  15 this moment when everything became still and so  16 . I put my hand on hers and asked her: “What is your son's name?” and when she said “Rocky”, our eyes connected  17 and were filled with tears. I was  18 and not able to respond.

    I drove home sobbing. What I did should  19 the young man's dream into reality. I then wrote a note for Rocky's mom, telling her that her 20 'baby boy' visited me in my dreams and the he wanted me to tell her that he is OK and that he loves her.

    A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had loved a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well 1 it, he told him that was all he wanted.

Do not spoil (搞糟) what you have by desiring (渴求) what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once 19 the things you hoped for. What may appear as bad fortune (运气) may 20 be the door that is just waiting to be opened.

    In 1952, my daddy traveled with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This meant he would 1 a lot of time away from home.

    As 2 came near，he called my mother and 3 why he would not be celebrating the holiday with us. Money was tight and he didn't have a way to get back to his4 .Though she was 5, mother knew he was right. When she told us the news, it really 6 me, and I went to bed on Christmas Eve with a 7 heart.

    I was ready to pay for my bananas at the grocery one night, when fear seized me. My wallet was gone. I could only have left it on the G9 bus, which was now speeding in the dark to some1station.

    The2moment was quickly followed by mental math. How much time and money would it cost to replace the3of that little wallet？The credit cards, the driver's license, the cash, all lost to the bus.

    Two hours later, back at my house, I heard a knock on the door. My husband 4it while I was on the phone in the dining room. "Does Jennifer live here?" I heard a lady say. In my husband's hand was my wallet, with not a penny5. She left before I could 6 make it to the door to offer my thanks.

    After sharing the story online, I heard from someone, who 7 the lady as Erin Smith. Without 8 , I called to thank her. She said she 9 my wallet on a bus seat. It helps them to be less frightened of flying. When they 12 fly, they are not as worried.
